When we were the Living Guardian Angels for a Unknown Stranger in New York City

Illustration: One stranger in the largest city in the world helped by strangers across the globe together in one little chat room. The New York City Skyline by William Warby 2007, Courtesy of wikimedia commons

Today's entry is going to be more whit in the realm of serendipity, coincidences and synchronicity / unsynchronicity. The events that lead to this intertwined butterfly effect that made us to be there at the very right point of time started long before we even knew we would be involved in an 10 hour long mission of guardianship, protection and support. I will not bore you with all the details of what lead this young 21 year old guy in New York City into a downward spiraling circle of deeper misery, despair and drug inflicted conditions that at a few times were dangerous and having a real a potential fatal outcome.

Around Midnight at local Honolulu time, I woke up finding my roommate in chat with a guy neither one of us had never seen or heard about before. Totally at random my roommate had stumbled into the chat room, of our soon to be mysterious friend, the chat room also had a live video feed. I immediately noticed my roommate seemed quite agitated, frantic and frustrated as he was writing one message after another into the chat window.

As I got closer and got the sleep out of my eyes I realised the guy my roommate was talking with had red marks all over his upper body, and even bloody stripes on his arms. He was obviously very drunk as I heard him saying it itches it itches as he scraped himself over and over again with the open edge  of some green handled scissors.

My roommate kept up the fight for one hour trying to get the guy to calm down, and stop harming himself, of which we learned of all the events that had taken place and what had lead him to this point of time. Now at 1am my roommate needed to get some sleep so I decided to step in and take over, keeping our new friend in NYC safe.

Over the course of the next eight hours I worked on calming him down while also trying to see if we could get him to contact one of his brothers, to help him out which he did not, and also at the same time working on keeping his chat room rolling. He grew agitated and aggressive in behavior whenever someone left his chat and extremely loud and frustrated that there was only two of all the people me and one other unknown stranger that worked on keeping his spirits up and the liquor out, as he described the mess of a life he was in with his fiancee breaking his heart, mixing of illegal drugs and alcohol, and all.

So perhaps we where the technological angels placed and meant to be there for him synchronised to that very point of time, just to be there for him watching working and protecting one word at a time or just pure coincidence.

A Psychic Experience by Stephanie B

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I believe that I may be psychic, (wow that's hard for me to say). I know that I am an Empath; I have been extremely empathic all my life. I found that out at a very early age.  As for premonitions or psychic experiences, I have had a few before this experience but have dismissed them off as either de ja veu or coincidence. The story that I'm about to tell is going to be the first time I have ever talked about it openly to a stranger or to any sort of organization.  I've only told this to people who are very close to me, or immediate family. I probably would have never been able to really open up or accept my abilities had it not been for me getting in contact with someone who was actually there and witnessed firsthand, what I went through and what had actually happened and can fill in some of the blanks.  It is only now, 10 years later, that I am trying to accept and come to terms with my experiences and try to gain some sort of control over them.

This was a horrific experience for me and very confusing to explain. Whenever I try to explain what was happening to me and what I experienced, I begin to re-live it. It was all emotion and that in itself is hard to describe, but I will do my best.  My friend James, who was my boyfriend at the time, is helping me with this story and has written his own account of this experience.

This all takes place in Phoenix, AZ, a couple of weeks leading up to the tragedy of 9/11. I had two different psychic experiences during this period.  One was an out of body experience but I will leave that for another time.  I will concentrate on the one that has stayed with me for all this time.  I remember it as being only a few days before 9\11, but I've been told it was actually a few weeks.  It started slowly; I didn’t even realize it at first.  I would just be thinking of a place, you know when you can’t remember a word or a name?  I would ask James “what’s a town in Pennsylvania?”  He would answer but it would not be right.  Then New York City would pop into my mind out of nowhere.

This went on about a week with growing frequency.  Then an overwhelming desire to write things down took me over and I began to scribble franticly in a notebook.  At the time, I felt I had no choice but to write, to figure out a puzzle of some sort, and I had to do it fast because time was running out.  I had to get people to listen to me and see what I was doing. I felt increasing fear and terror, for I felt if I did not figure it out and get someone to help there would be serious consequences.

I still remember what it felt like and what was happening like it was yesterday.  Time had no meaning, I actually thought it was only a few days, but come to find out it was a few weeks before 9/11.   I felt like I was getting pieces like clues, as if someone was desperately trying to tell me something.  They were frantic and needed my help so I tried to help them.  It was almost as though they knew me because they would remind me of certain happenings in my life like a past memory, and in that memory was a clue as to what I needed to help.  The only way I could make sense of it was to write what the clues that I got were, almost like a tree.

I had to use deductive reasoning so to speak, the problem was it was too much to handle all at once.  Emotions and clues were bombarding me all at once so my writing would become tangled up on each other.   When I would feel I was close to figuring one clue out, then there were more and different clues. It became difficult to distinguish between the clues in my writings.

It was the worst experience in my lifetime. When I would come to a conclusion, from where I don’t know, I would try and explain it to someone.  James mostly, I would show him the paper and tell him that something was going to happen there!  I was frightened and determined, he listened, and looked at what I was doing and tried to be patient but all in all he really thought I was nuts at the time. I remember even explaining to him how I knew that something was going to happen, he would ask me what is going to happen, and I didn't know.  I just knew it was something bad. My memory of those weeks leading up to 9/11 and what was going on around me is limited, mostly what I remember is the panic and the feeling of despair.

I was running out of time, someone had to listen to me, I was so consumed with the emotion of it all, I barely knew what was going on around me.  This continued with increasing frequency for 2 weeks or so.  I've never felt so helpless in my entire life.  I began to tell people that something bad was going to happen in New York, the Liberty Tree, and some place in Pennsylvania.  I would tell James over and over until he would repeat it back to me, but I still didn’t know what would happen.  After a while no one except James would listen to me and even he was just humoring me.  That didn’t stop me from continuing my mantra about New York, the Liberty Tree, and Pennsylvania.  I would mutter those three things over and over whether anyone was listening or not.

On the night of September 10th, not being able to sleep, James and I walked around for hours thru our neighborhood all night.  As I still tried to convince him that something was going to happen, he humored me and explained that he couldn't do anything unless he had more information.  As he finally calmed me down somewhat to go home, that is when we saw the helicopters and received the news.  After receiving the news, things become very hazy.  I ran away from James, he lost sight of me, and I have no recollection of that time so I’m not sure of the events at that point.  I did realize eventually that I had predicted the tragedy, although I denied it to myself for a long time.  I ended up disappearing from my home in AZ and left to California.

The psychic experiences continued to happen for about a year after that and that's why I left to try and get away from it.  It’s been 10 years and I still have a hard time believing it, a couple of years after 9/11 I started accepting that I had some sort of a vision. I thought I was the only one who used writing and free association.  It was astounding to me to find out that there are others who do the same and they even have a name for it (free writing) I think.  Every 9/11 I have a hard time accepting it and I still doubt what I did and try and tell myself that I was crazy, there is a perfectly logical reason for all this but the more I think on it the more I can’t find one.  I recently came back into contact with James and we've talked about it and he has confirmed it, I was not crazy.  He remembers it exactly the way I do with a little more detail. I'm still not sure if that was the answer I was looking for.  But for now I've decided that it would be best for me to embrace the gift, and try and control it and myself so I will never have to feel the terror anything like that again.

Thank you for your time, I appreciate your site very much.  You’re doing a wonderful service for those of us who have stories to tell.

An Interesting True Empathic Psychic Experience

I used to be a skeptic of all things psychic in nature.  That all changed with the tragedy of 9/11, where I witnessed my own psychic experience.  It was late August 2001 when my girlfriend started saying three things repeatedly.  Something bad is going to be happening in New York City, the Liberty Tree, and some place in Pennsylvania.  She would recite these three things over and over again, getting more frantic as she did. All my friends and I just thought she was crazy.  It kept getting worse and more frequent up to the night of September 10th.

That night my girlfriend and I walked the neighborhoods all night while I tried to calm her down.  Just as I got her calm, it came on the news about the twin towers, which sent her off the deep end once again.  With the shock of the incident, I didn't really piece together what she had been saying for the past three weeks.  But when I did the shock was tremendous.  She had accurately predicted the 9/11 incident including the plane going down in the Pennsylvania countryside. This experience changed my life forever.  I can no longer be skeptical about psychic experiences all though I don't have complete answers of my own.

Editors Note:
There was recorded a very significant increase in psychic predictions of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and one of our friends (Nina of Norway) also had experiences in the months and weeks ahead of 9/11, for her story check out:  9/11 A Norwegians Foresight Story

My Paranormal Life

Illustration by PJ 2007: The Birch Tree, symbolizing life itself

Hi! My name is Pamela. I live in San Antonio, Texas with my husband of 18 years, Guy, and our 3 dogs. :) I was born and raised in New York City. I grew up in a house in Queens that was buzzing with paranormal activity for all of my childhood.

First of all, my grandfather passed away on April 16th, 1962, of a stroke. My mother, a nurse at the time, was at his bedside when he died. I was born 4 years later, on the same day. I lived in the house with my mother and my younger sister, Cookie, upstairs from my grandmother. We didn't know for many years that the room we slept in belonged to our great grandmother, who died in her sleep in the same room.

My family has a history of foreseeing the future in dreams, and feeling and seeing things other people can't. You might call us, hyper-sensitives. It has taken years for me to accept the fact that this is what I am. I have had so many experiences that I don't know where to start but I've learned why they happened; there was an incredible amount of anger and tension in my house. My mother and grandmother did not get along at all....they would go for months without speaking. My mother was an alcoholic and suffered from depression. My grandmother was sick with diabetes and high blood pressure, and she survived breast cancer.

At age four, I saw something white float across the hallway; it looked exactly like the spirit that floated down the stairs in the movie "Poltergeist." I told my mother, and she believed me but she didn't try to investigate what I saw. I wasn't frightened by it either; I was more fascinated than anything else.

Things continued to happen all through my childhood, but the worst places in the house were the attic and the basement. The washing machine was in the basement, and whenever I was done with the laundry, I always felt the need to run out of there, like something was behind me about to get me. And I'd slam the door and lock it. The vibe in that room was very uncomfortable and most evil. The attic always seemed as tight as a tomb; even with the windows open, there didn't seem to be any air flowing there. All there seemed to be was residual tension with all the relics of my mother's unhappy past; her wedding gown, her shoes, my cousin's uniform and boots from when he returned from Viet Nam....Cookie and I loved to play in the wedding gown, but it always seemed to break my mom's heart just a little when she saw us in it.

As I got older, more started to happen. I heard dishes being banged around in the kitchen as I tried to sleep. About the same time every night, my mom and I heard banging on the walls in the living room. I was taught about the Bible and how God would protect you from these kinds of things if you prayed, but most of the time I was too paralyzed with fear to remember when these things would happen. The scariest thing that happened was when I heard heavy footsteps coming down on the attic stairs, down the hall, towards our room. I was so terrified I ran down to my grandmother and told her someone was in the attic coming to get us, and I had left Cookie upstairs. Cookie slept like a rock, she never heard a thing! But Grandma, up in age now, went with me all the way upstairs with her flashlight and a fireplace poker, and banged on the walls of the staircases, yelling at whatever was bothering me to come out. It was deadly silent, but just being with Grandma made me feel safe. We checked on Cookie and she was okay. I could feel that whatever was there was gone. She drank a hot cup of tea with me, and then she gave me her Bible and told me to sleep with it under my pillow that night. Whatever it was making all that racket that night didn't come back again.

Three months after I turned 18, my grandmother passed away. I saw her sitting in the living room like I had my whole life one day, only to realize that she was already gone. It all made me wonder if all the things that I'd seen and felt in that house was all just my mind playing tricks on me. No....it's all just sound proof to me that there is something that goes on after we pass this life. I was with both my mother and my grandmother when they took their last breath 21 years apart, at the same time of day. Nothing is a coincidence to me....part of the reason why I was put on this earth was to see them through.

I don't experience much anymore, but I still feel things when people talk to me or if I go into a place I've never been, if I see a picture, and I still have prophetic dreams. I'm also thankful that my mom and grandmother didn't dismiss me when I told them I saw or felt things....I'm so glad they believed me. People need to open their minds more; children are so open to these kinds of things happening to them, and they can feel so desperately alone when they don't have their parents' support.

So, that's my two cents. Thanks for listening!!

The Angel

This in from Mitchell from Long Island, New York.
When I was 12 years old I had a 3 year old sister. She was a very smart girl and a real joy to be around. Our parents were not very religious and we didn't attend any church at all. There was to the best of my knowledge never a discussion about God or religion in our home.

To make a long story short my 3 year old sister Beth was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. She was in and out of hospitals for weeks on end and finally sent home to die. One afternoon our Mother came out of Beth's room crying and she told my Father and I that she was reading Beth a story and all of a sudden Beth stopped her and said That's enough mommy. Mom said she asked Beth if she felt OK and Beth informed her that she felt good. When my Mom asked why she didn't want her to finish the story Beth replied that the angel was now here and Beth said can't you see her Mommy?

At that point My Mom & Dad and myself walked into Beth's room and she was gone. Her little lifeless body laid there as is she were asleep but, she was not breathing. My Mom screamed and was crying as was I. Dad ran into the living room to call an ambulance but, it was too late Beth was gone from us.

No one knows where Beth learned of angles because it was never mentioned in our home. However, after Beth was buried, Mom,Dad, and myself started to attend church every Sunday. I guess Mom and Dad figured if Beth saw an angel then there had to really be angels.

The Three Year Old Miracle

This in from Josh in NYC

I had a friend who got married to a really nice girl. She was a sweet as can be the only thing about this girl was, sometimes she would get real quiet and go some where to be by herself. When asked why she does this, her reply would always be that she would get a feeling of doom or tragedy and she went to be by herself so she could try to figure out what was going to happen. Sometimes she could figure it out and sometimes she couldn't.

I understood that myself because I knew that when people get these premonitions and because most of these people are not trained enough to bring the whole scope of what is about to happen they, just get bits and pieces and they can not get the missing pieces of the puzzle. Now that does not mean these people do not have the gift. It simply means that they have not been trained enough to use their gift completely.

After about a year of marriage Josh and his wife Julie had a baby boy. The baby was named after his father. Little Josh was God's gift to his parents and believe it or not, little Josh also had a gift for the world.

When little Josh was 3 years old he started to act a bit strange at times. By strange I mean for apparently no reason at all. he would start to scream and cry and run to his Mother of Dad and clutch their clothes and hang on for dear life, all the time crying and screaming. Little Josh could never seem to say why he was screaming and crying or why he seemed so terrified . After seeing a whole host of doctors and having almost every medical test done on the child. It was determined that it was a behavioral issue and that little Josh would hopefully grow out of it

Julie started to notice things such as when little josh would act out like this,,he would cry himself to sleep and that within an our after wards, there would somewhere close by be a tragedy taking place. Examples of this would be, One time when little Josh would act out within an hour of his crying and screaming the neighbor's house burned down and a lady perished in the fire. Another time a school bus full of children git stuck on the rail road tracks and the bus was hit by the train. Most of the children got off the bus safely but, a few didn't get off in time and were killed. the list go's on and on.

Julie decided to have Little Josh tested for physic abilities and I am sure you all guessed it he has very good physic abilities. Josh is now 8 years old and he is being trained to sharpen and broaden his physic skills.

9/11 - A Norwegian's Foresight Story

This one is from Nina in Tromsø, Norway.
I recall that back in July 2001 I was about to travel through New York City, how I wanted to see the World Trade Center, I back then had this odd feeling this would be my only chance of doing so, not because I wouldn't be traveling to NY in the future but because I felt the towers would not be there the next time.

Then a few months later, in the first week of September and I was chatting online with my American friend Gary, over in Gettysburg PA, I told him that I had this odd feeling something bad was going to happen in New York really soon, something that was not an accident and that It would be really bad. Of course Gary refused to believe me, but I was adamant that he should tell his friends and family to stay away from NY that day, this was a really odd feeling since I have had feelings of bad things happening to members in my family, friends or neighbors and then it come true since I was a little kid, but never anything about people I never seen or heard about in a different country.

It struck me like a strong emotion, like the pain and grief of many many added together, overwhelmed me making me feel weak, frightened and lost. Then on September 11 the pieces all came together and my horrible foresight came true, even-though I didn't see the specifics I knew this was what I had felt, all that grief, from those in the flights, in the World Trade Center and from all the friends, relatives and loved ones they left behind, it still shocks me thinking about that, both my emotional foresight, the fact that I a few months earlier felt the World Trade Center was not going to be there much longer, and that I one week ahead felt it was really coming true.
