My Old Teddy Bear

When I was really young, I think I was 5 years old. We lived out in the country side were there were no other kids around my age to play with. My mother sensed my loneliness and for my birthday a few weeks later bought me a really cool teddy bear. The teddy bear could say words and answer questions. It could say Yes, No, How are you, and I have missed you.

As I grew older I stopped playing with the teddy bear and I asked my mom to please save it and not throw it away. I remember she wrapped it in newspaper and put it in a box to be placed in the attic. The years went by and I forgot all about the teddy bear. When I was 25 yeas old my father died in an accident. My mother didn't want to live way out in the country alone with just her and I. So we sold our house and moved into the city. As time went by and, we became settled I found a good job and my mom found some good friends and all seemed well.

At that point, I thought about moving out but then, I figured why would I want to do that. I mean mom had the entire first floor to herself and I had second floor. I while I was working I would come home, check in on mom. Whenever I was not working we would have a meals together and the rest of the time stay upstairs in my own floor.

One night I had to work over for a few hours and I didn't get home until past 10 PM that evening. I could see that my mom's bedroom light was on so, I just went upstairs without disturbing her. The next morning I went to check in on her and she was not breathing and he body was cold to touch. She had been dead for hours.

After the funeral and giving myself some time to grieve, I cleaned the attic out and got rid of all the stuff up there and for some reason, It hit me that my old teddy bear was not there. I went through everything and it was not there. I didn't think anymore about it and had all the items in the attic given to different charities around town.

A few weeks later, I returned from work and as I was going up the stairs, I heard talking and I recognized the sound as that of my old teddy bear. As I entered my room I thought I had lost my mind because sitting on the top of my bed was my old teddy bear just chatting away. This time he said a new line and that was... I will always be here if you need me! I have no clue about where he was or, how he got here. I hadn't seen him in years. I just can't figure it out however, I am sure that line of I will always be here if you need me is my mother's way of telling me she will always be here for me if I need her.

Paranormal Phenomena: Vardøger

The paranormal activity that I have experienced is more than any other is what in Norway is called vardøger, a vardøger is a spirit predecessor and is considered to be a form of bi-location, and it is when one hear a person before they arrive, and it is said that this is their vardøger, spirit predecessor or spirit follower that appear a few minutes ahead of the person it is preceding. For some reason this type of phenomena seem to be typical in Scandinavia but almost unknown in the rest of the world.

Growing up everybody in my house would frequently hear the sounds of people on their way before they actually get there, the sound of the knocking on the door, removing of outer clothes, shoes and such in the hallway, and with experience one could even know exactly whom the vardøger is for, since it would follow the exact habits of is double. For example I would always hear my grandmothers vardøger as her entering the hallway, brushing off sand of her shoes, entering the inner hallway while carrying a pile of wood before entering into the kitchen refilling first the wood pile before opening the kitchen wood stove and filling it before it ever happened.

One would enter the kitchen to find it empty before again hearing everything in repeat as my real grandmother enters and does everything in order just as her vardøger did.

My uncles, aunts, brother, parents, other grandparents, friends of the family and even guests one had never met before would also have the vardøger enter or park outside in their car before their actual arrival.

The Haunted Bachelor's Grove Cemetery, Midlothian, Illinois

Orb by the Bachelor's Grove by N.L Mennella

Todays article was sent to us by N.L Mennella, in Midlothian, Illinois

Six years ago, I decided to check out Bachelor's Grove, the famously "haunted" abandoned cemetery in Midlothian, Illinois. I've lived near it all my life but never saw it, despite all its haunted claims. From a lady in white searching for her child to mobsters bodies being thrown in the pond;  this place had many a story.

I was a complete skeptic of the paranormal at the time but tried to stay as open minded as I could. I brought my 35mm camera and my digital and took off.  It has been told that you will get evidence of any kind when shooting photos at the Grove, no matter what. Well, I was there alone during the daytime and all I was getting was mosquito bites and heat rash while taking photos; I decided to investigate on a hot humid July day.  I was there for a good hour when it started raining, so I headed back to the parking lot on the other side of the cemetery.

I got to the middle of the woods and decided what the hell, even though I don't believe in spirits, let me thank them for letting me "visit."  So I stopped and said "thank you."  I started to walk again and suddenly heard whispers. I turned around but no one was there. I started walking again and heard the whispers again, this time a little louder.  I stopped, turned and said, "Is someone trying to communicate with me?"  Silence.  As I walked away I swore I heard "welcome..."  I just shrugged it off and went to have my film developed.  It was probably just some kids playing around the area or on the local bike path.  It was a little strange but nothing to set me running.

I had my film developed and brought it home. All the pictures where of the tombstones, pond, trees-nothing out of the ordinary.  As I was putting them away one picture of the pond caught my eye.  A strange orb is seen floating above the water.  I studied it and studied it, but I couldn't explain it.  Was it a spirit?  Did I actually catch a "ghost" on film?  Or was this a fluke, a malfunction of the camera or the film?  I was baffled, and I am to this day.  Here is the picture;  I will have you decide. I have been to Bachelor's Grove half a dozen times since, but have not captured anything else on film.  Hmmmm....
Maybe this was the spirit saying you're welcome?

Rondo - The Oracle Cat

This is about a cat called Rondo, whom the owners in Vadsø, Norway, claim possessed mystical powers like telepathy and being able to answer questions in Norwegian.

Rondo could answer simple questions with the Norwegian words for yes, and no (ja and nei), the more impressive parts is when he answered the questions before one even asked them to him, like if using some sort of telepathy, in both cases of answering a question asked orally or telepathically Rondo would look deep into your eyes with a piercing glare and utter his answer loud and clear, and each time it was the correct answer.

Rondo loved watching TV and also had a cunning ability to pick out the villains in any show by clawing on their face whenever they appeared, even before their role was ever revealed. Rondo even knew how to operate the remote control, using it to turn on his favorite show, Tom & Jerry.

The owners told me this cat was not only an oracle but also extremely cunning and evil, and that he loved torturing, taunting and scaring them, especially their family dog had to endure hours of the cats painful games of torture.
