Mother Spirit Looking For Her Baby

This is a story my very good friend Masaki shared with me. He is a 28 year old Japanese guy, who lives here on Honolulu. A short while ago he told me about an experience he had when he was 15 years old and shook him up so much that he never forgot it. Now, Masaki was never one to put much stock into anything paranormal still, when he thinks about this experience, he ends up shaking.

At the time, Masaki was living in Tokyo and it all happened while on a summer school field trip with his class and a few instructors. The field trip took them to the city of Nagano. As they were all checking into the hotel, the desk clerk told us that during the second world war, a young mother became separated from her baby. No one knows what ever happened to the baby but the mother was killed during the war on the spot where the hotel now stands. They were also told that if they heard a women calling out a name, not to respond to it in any way because, it would be the  spirit of the young mother looking for her child and, if they did respond, the mother would take their spirit thinking it was her child and would take them off into another world.

That night, Masaki could not sleep, he just laid there awake and thought it was because he was he was excited about the next day going around in Nagano because he had never been there before. At some point Masaki got out of bed to go to the bathroom. Once he was finished in the bathroom he walked back to his bed again. At that point Masaki heard a young women call out a name, It was his name, he looked around from where he was standing and saw nothing unusual and saw no one else in the room. Not knowing what else to do Masaki crawled back into bed and laid there and he continued to hear his name called out by a young women. Every time he heard his name being called out. It sounded like the voice was closer and closer to him until, he threw the cover up over his head in fright. He did not respond to what he heard and he lay there shaking. Finally, the calling of his name stopped and he somehow he fell asleep.

Now can a 15 year old boy have an active imagination? Yes. Could it have been hotel staff playing a joke on him? yes but, not likely. Or, could it simply be that the young women's spirit was there still looking for her baby? You bet it could be.

Today Masaki visits Nagano on a regular basis for the company he works for here in Hawaii. However, he never stays at the hotel where this happened. However he always stays at a different one.

The Ringing of the Phone

Back in the early 70's, My sister and her young son moved into an old house down in the southern part of the country. As I said, the house was indeed old but, it was only for a year until her husband would complete his military commitment over seas and then would be back home and a civilian once again. So she figured the old house would suit her purpose for a year and besides the owner was asking a very low amount of monthly rent.

My sister noticed that there was no phone in the house and only one phone jack and that was in the living room. She said she had to wait until pay day to get a phone installed. She had an especially busy day at work that day and was very tired when she got home. later that night, she put her son to bed and she went to get ready for bed herself.  As she was getting ready to turn in for the night she heard a phone ring. She thought she just imagined  it because it only rang once and, she already knew there was no phone in the house. She went to bed and just as she was falling off to sleep she heard a phone ring again. She didn't get much sleep that night because of the sound of a ringing phone. It actually woke her son up and together they searched the entire house for a phone including the basement and attic and there there was no phone to be found.

The next day she complained to the landlady about it and the woman told her why she heard a phone ring all night long. She told my sister the story of what happened in that house several years before. The landlady said that her parents built that house many years ago and that her mom and dad were married 50 years when her mother was murdered in that house. One day her father came home from his doctor appointment and as he walked into the house, he found that his wife had been murdered during his absence. by strangulation. According to the landlady, there were no signs of forced entry so his wife must have let the intruder into the house.

The elderly man's  wife had been strangled. The intruder used the phone cord to kill her. When he got into the living room, his wife was laying dead on the floor with the phone core still wrapped around her neck. A lengthy police investigation ended with no suspect being arrested.

The landlady went on to say that after about two weeks since his wife was murdered, the elderly man had the phone taken out of the house so he wouldn't have to look at it anymore. Once the phone was out, the elderly man started to hear a phone ring in the house at night. He swore it was his late wife trying to call him from beyond and, she would not have known that the phone had been taken out. He told the landlady about all of this and she said it was just his mind playing tricks on him and that it would all go away soon.

The elderly man missed his wife of 50 years very much and he thought his daughter was correct, that the ringing of the phone every hour late at night was all in his mind. Now, I know it wasn't because my sister and her son both experienced the same thing the elderly man did.

A few nights after the elderly man's daughter told him it was all in his mind, the lonely elderly man was sitting in his living room and once again the phone would start to ring on the hour, every hour. Finally, he could not take it anymore and he pulled a gun out and shot himself in the head. The neighbors heard a gun shot and called the police and an ambulance. The man wad dead when the police and ambulance arrived.

As far as was it the elderly man's wife trying to call him from the other side... I do not know. I often wonder that if that were actually  the case, then why did a the sound of a phone continue to ring long after his death when my sister moved into the house? What I do know is that a sound of a phone ringing happened every night, every hour on the hour even though there was no phone in the house. My sister did indeed move out of that old house. Since then I believe the old house has been torn down along with a few other houses in that area, due to being old and abandon.

Ganding - The Evil Curse From Northern Norway

 Illustration PJ 2011,
The closed fist is important in Ganding

Even today in the northern part of Norway there are Sami, and Norwegians that use Norwegian form of cursing someone called Ganding, both Vikings and Sami where known to be no strangers to use of ganding, though with Christianity and the notoriously ferocious witch-hunts that hit Northern Norway more than most of Europe, most of these malicious forms of black magic and even more so the use of healing was stomped out during the which trails of the1600th and 1700th centuries, of which estimates places to about 21% accounted to ganding, with 4% diabolism and the remaining 76% use of healing magic, herbs or other mysterious practices which still survived fairly intact in the Sami population.

Most people have streaks of both good and evil, and my father was at times filled with meanness, often followed with him swearing and at times he performed gand. More often than most the targets of the ganding would be the neighbors that had happened to trigger his nerves with some usually trivial stuff followed by having them placed in gand, he was even proud of it and at times bragged that he had put many down from their high horse after getting struck with a series of bad luck after he placed them in gand.

My father also told the stories how his uncle once placed someone in a catatonic stage for 10 years using a gand, which very specifically worded that the target would be unable to speak or move until 10 years had passed, and that this was just one of the cases of ganding that his family could do. Though frankly I never believed there to be much credence in these accounts back when I was growing up.

My mother believed herself to be one of those struck with one of the more potent of my fathers gands after she left him a few years back after a few decades of marriage, and she asked me to use my faith in Jesus Christ to help her break the evil curse that she felt had been ruining her life and put her in the deepest despair, both financially, with no work and series of mysterious sicknesses that the doctors could do nothing about. Needless to say I did what I could and the gand seemed to be broken, and things are still improving in all parts of her life.

My Old Teddy Bear

When I was really young, I think I was 5 years old. We lived out in the country side were there were no other kids around my age to play with. My mother sensed my loneliness and for my birthday a few weeks later bought me a really cool teddy bear. The teddy bear could say words and answer questions. It could say Yes, No, How are you, and I have missed you.

As I grew older I stopped playing with the teddy bear and I asked my mom to please save it and not throw it away. I remember she wrapped it in newspaper and put it in a box to be placed in the attic. The years went by and I forgot all about the teddy bear. When I was 25 yeas old my father died in an accident. My mother didn't want to live way out in the country alone with just her and I. So we sold our house and moved into the city. As time went by and, we became settled I found a good job and my mom found some good friends and all seemed well.

At that point, I thought about moving out but then, I figured why would I want to do that. I mean mom had the entire first floor to herself and I had second floor. I while I was working I would come home, check in on mom. Whenever I was not working we would have a meals together and the rest of the time stay upstairs in my own floor.

One night I had to work over for a few hours and I didn't get home until past 10 PM that evening. I could see that my mom's bedroom light was on so, I just went upstairs without disturbing her. The next morning I went to check in on her and she was not breathing and he body was cold to touch. She had been dead for hours.

After the funeral and giving myself some time to grieve, I cleaned the attic out and got rid of all the stuff up there and for some reason, It hit me that my old teddy bear was not there. I went through everything and it was not there. I didn't think anymore about it and had all the items in the attic given to different charities around town.

A few weeks later, I returned from work and as I was going up the stairs, I heard talking and I recognized the sound as that of my old teddy bear. As I entered my room I thought I had lost my mind because sitting on the top of my bed was my old teddy bear just chatting away. This time he said a new line and that was... I will always be here if you need me! I have no clue about where he was or, how he got here. I hadn't seen him in years. I just can't figure it out however, I am sure that line of I will always be here if you need me is my mother's way of telling me she will always be here for me if I need her.

Mom Still Watches Over Us

Photo illustration by PJ 2010

About nine years ago I was sound asleep in my house. Well actually it was my mother's house but when she passed away ten years ago the house went to me. I did miss my mom a lot. When my older brother and my dad were alive and things would go wrong and money was tight, my mother was always the one that kept the family together and kept the family strong. She was indeed the monarch of our family. Since my mom has passed on, it is just my sister and I left to carry on.

As I stated, I was alone in the house and asleep. I had the strangest dream. In my dream I could see my mother's face with a worried, urgent look on it and she was calling me and saying ... You need to wake up! You are in danger and if you don't wake up, you will die and it is not your time yet however. your life will end if you do not wake up NOW!

With that last warning I did indeed wake up and I sat straight up in bed. I realized at once it was just a dream and I wondered why I would dream such a thing. Just as I was ready to lay back down and attempt to go back to sleep. I started to smell smoke and I jumped out of bed and look all around but everything seemed to be OK. At that point I opened the door to the cellar. As soon as I opened the cellar door, I realized that there was a fire down in the basement. I immediately ran into the kitchen and called 911 and then grabbed some towels from the hallway and made them wet and went down the steps into the cellar to see if I could get any of the fire out until the firefighters arrived.

To make a long story short, The firefighters were able to put the fire out and I did have to have the basement redone due to fire, water and, smoke damage  It was all taken care of within two months and it turned out that the fire was caused by some electrical malfunction down in the basement.

Since that night I have always wondered was my dream just a dream or was my mother trying to alert me of impending danger. My older sister and I have talked and she said she had a dream one night of our mother warning her over and over that she needed to go see a doctor. When my sister did go see her doctor, she discovered she had the very beginning stages of colon cancer and we thank God and mom that she was able to get that taken care of.

I guess our mother is still watching over her children  even though she has passed on. We Love and Miss you Mom!

A Visit From My Ex-Girlfriend's Dead Mother

This one is in from Chris, in Hawaii

My ex-girlfriend's mother had died several years ago due to cancer. I myself have never met her. I only know of her from what my then girl friend has told me and I have only seen a few photos of her.

A few years ago, My girl friend was spending the night at my house. we had some food, watched a funny movie and then we both fell asleep. After sleeping about 4 hours I woke up because nature called. I laid there to make sure I was awake enough to be able to walk to the bathroom and I got a very strange feeling came over me. As I turned over to  get out of bed I looked up in the darkness of the room and what I saw almost made my heart beat right out of my chest.

What i saw was a women standing at the side of my bed. She had long hair and was dressed in very dark clothes. There was some light coming from my computer so I could see somewhat. This woman had big eyes and she was looking down at me. I was so frightened, I didn't move for a long time. Then I got up enough nerve to reach to my bed stand and click on the light and at that minute all i saw was a shadow disappear.

I went to the bathroom and then returned to be wide awake at this point but in time I felt I could go to sleep again. I rolled over to my favorite sleeping position and once again this women was there looking down at me. Once again I laid there afraid to move at all. Then I finally reached out to click on the light again
and I saw what looked like a gray or black dust just disappear into the air.

The  next day I told my girl friend about my experience that she just slept through and she just looked at me and said. yesterday was the anniversary
of my mom's death and she comes around like that every year just to see that I am OK I guess. However, I had a bad feeling about it all. To make things even more  interesting a few nights later my girl friend and I were out to diner with her sister and her sister's boy friend. My girl friend's sister stated to that the very night I had my experience her sister was being chocked by an unknown, unseen force. Needless to say, I slept for the next few nights with the lights on.

Melissa's Birthday

Hi my name is Melissa and I would like to share something with you. First of all I love this site, many of the stories touch my heart and bring tears to my eyes. This past summer I lost one of my Best friends in the whole world, my Mother.

Ever sense I was little I can remember her telling me about the night that I was born. I guess that my Auntie Joan was over visiting and her and my Mother were playing cards at the kitchen table when my Mom went in to labor with me. My Dad was at work, so they called him and told him to rush home because he had to bring my Mom to the hospital. While on the way there my Mom was in the back seat and my Auntie was yelling at my Dad to drive faster, but he couldn't go any faster because there was a BLIZZARD going on and the roads were snow covered and very icy.

Well everyone got to the hospital ok and I was born on December1, 1981. Like I was saying, I lost my Mother this past July due to cancer, but the night before my birthday, before I went to sleep I actually prayed for the first time since she died. What I said was this, "Mom if you are up there and you can hear me, all I want for my Birthday is snow, big fat pretty snow flakes." Then I went to sleep not thinking a lot about it.

But when I woke up the morning of my Birthday it was snowing, and they were big fat pretty snow flakes. Some people will tell you that it all has to do with the weather patterns in the mid-west this time of year. But I like to think that she is up there watching over the family and I and, sent those just for me. Thanks for giving me the chance to share with you.

His Mother's Wedding Ring

I once worked with a young man that was married and had one child. His name is Danny. We became instant friends at work, when we went out we would be taking his wife and my gf along and do things like bowling, movies and BBQ's. The four of us became very good friends.

I didn't know this at the time but, Danny's mother had been murdered several years ago when he was like 7 years old. At this time he was a 27 year old outgoing, friendly, and caring person. On night Danny's wife called and was asking for help. She told me that all day long Danny had been walking around talking to his dead mother and she could not seem to bring him out of it. His wife was very concerned and said that if either her or their little girl would say anything to Danny, He just ignored and continued walking all around talking to his deceased mother. His wife was beginning to think that Danny was loosing it. My girl friend and I went directly over to Danny's house. Once there we found Danny walking all through the one story home talking to what seemed to be his deceased mother.

I walked over to Danny and ask him if he was OK and I put my hand on his shoulder, he just kept on walking and talking like I was not even there. He would walk around and talk to her and then would be quiet as he waited for her reply. Now Danny did not do drugs and, he didn't drink either. I ask his wife if he was on any medication and she answered no.

I kept hearing Danny asking his mother about a ring. I quickly called his sister who lives in another state and ask her if she knew what he was talking about. Her answer was that when their mother was buried, his sister put a ring on her finger for her to be buried with. She put the ring (The mother's wedding ring) on her finger right before the casket was closed and locked, several people saw this. His sister also told me that after the service, Danny said to her that his their mom had promised him the ring. His mother told him that when he became older she would give him the ring for good luck & love in his life. It really was the only thing Danny had to remember his mother by.

I still thought Danny was loosing it  and I told my girl friend to call 911. As she did that, she came back from the phone call asking what was this ring she found on the table beside the phone. When Danny saw the ring he started to cry and just kept thanking his mother for it. The ambulance arrived and did take Danny to the hospital and he was diagnosed with having an extreme anxiety spell.

Now here is the thing... Three days later when Danny's sister arrived she confirmed that the ring  my girl friend found was indeed their mother's wedding ring. However, their mother was indeed buried with the ring on her finger.

So, how did the ring get there on the phone stand? Was Danny really talking to his mother and was she really answering him back? All I know for sure is  as I stated before, Danny;s sister did confirm the ring my girl friend found was indeed Danny's mother's wedding ring. We also know, the ring was on his mother's finger at the time of burial.  guess we will never know where that ring came from.

My family has a long history of Ghost Hunting

Photo by PJ, Honolulu, Hawaii 2005
A family is like the rocks of this wall, every rock is part of a larger whole, if one remove a few rocks the wall would change, perhaps making the wall crumble, perhaps the rocks took a different path becoming the foundation to a home, or never left the nature it used to part of.

Growing up in a very active house, surrounded by a family which took spirits for granted. I knew from a early age about all of these stories of those before me and how they used to encounter, seek out and help the spirits of anyone which requested them to do so.

The most prominent ones were my grandfather and his brother (The Psychic Ghosthunter Twins) on my fathers side. While my grandfather knew spirits, my grand uncle saw, together they were quite a team and very well known for their talent. They found their ability to sense spirits when they were just a little boys. Not only did they know and see the spirit, but also knew how to help them, chase them away if it was being troublesome or even give them sanctuary in case of nice spirits that were being pestered by the new inhabitants of his or her old home. Which is one of the reasons my grandfather's home had so many spirits to begin with. Whenever there was a haunting they were called to help, I never met my grand uncle but my grandfather kept on taking care of ghosts long after their ways split apart. Even at the age of 94 my grandfather still helped settle the restless ghost of his son-in-law when it was scaring his newest great grand child.

I do not know if there was others before my grandfather, in my family but I am pretty sure there was a few, seeing how common the ability of psychic talents and spirit sense seems to be among my close current living relatives.

I also have Ghost hunters on my mothers side, my mother being one of them, even though my mother never searched out ghosts they usually came to her and she helps them out. And her grandmother, my great grandmother were also a known source when it came to handling ghosts. So put it mildly, I have it in my blood.

My Mother's Ghost

My friend George from New Mexico shared this story with me.

One night not to long ago, I could not sleep. Everything seemed OK I guess, I just couldn't sleep. I got out of bed to go to the bathroom and on my way back to bed I heard a voice call my name. It was just a whisper but it was my name. I looked around and saw no one. I crawled back into bed and attempted to sleep but, I had no luck with that.

Once again, I heard a voice whisper my name. It was a female voice. I sat up in bed and turned the light on. As I looked around once again I saw no one. for some reason I was not afraid but, I was curious as to what I was hearing. I laid back down and this time I let the bedroom light on.

I was laying there and a few feet away from my bed is a rocking chair that was my Mother's when she was alive. She has been dead for 10 years. As I looked in the direction of the chair I saw my Mother sitting there. I sat straight up in bed and I was in a state of shock I think. She was not transparent, her body looked as if she was alive.

She told me to stay in bed that, she had just come to tell me something. She wanted to tell me that she was OK and she was very happy where she was. She told me that she knew I was worried about her but, I shouldn't worry. She blew me a kiss as she use to do when I was a little boy and then she was gone. I didn't sleep at all that night  but it was worth loosing a nights worth of sleep.

My Mother also told me a few other thing that, I for now will keep to myself. I am writing this to let others know that when we loose loved ones, They are not really ever gone and their love stays with us.

When your Energy make Objects Fall

My Mother never considered herself to have any kind of paranormal abilities. I however, think she had more then one. One of the things that always seem to happen to her that baffled her for many years was when objects fall.

It seems that right before she would find out of some family tragedy, things in whatever room my mother was in would start to fall. Objects would fall from the desk or bed and also photos would fall off the wall from where they hung.

I remember when my Dad was in a serious car accident. Over one hour before she got the phone call from the hospital, she was reading in her room and she said she felt anxious and all of a sudden the photos on her bedroom wall started to fall . she walked into the hallway on her way to the broom closet and a mini statue she had on a small table in the hallway fell to the ground. she took a broom from the closet and started to clean the broken glass up from the falling photos. From that point she walked into the kitchen and the spices fell from the spice rack.

This as strange as it may seem is true, and my mother has had many experiences like this. She had a few other things happen that most people do not experience but,  this one thing really baffled her for many years. I think that her intuition  as a mother and a wife allowed her to emit  a certain type of energy that could make things fall. In other words, deep down inside, inside her subconscious,   she knew when something was wrong with a family member but she didn't know which family member or what had actually happened  and her energy and frustration built up to a point that things would fly off the wall and other objects would fall over.

Electromagnetic Psychokinesis and Telekinesis and Poltergeist Activity are very similar to this experience, and if you find this subject interesting I could recommend reading those entries.

I See but I Don't want to

This the retold story from my 22 year old friend Jean from Tennessee, and she gave me permission to present her story to you. -Gary

I was just like every other happy well adjusted girl in their 20s. All except I knew things. I even saw some things that I didn't want to see. When my dad was killed in a car accident, I saw that two days before it happened. I even told him what I saw and he drove that day anyway and he was killed in a car accident.

I had a boy friend when I was 20. we actually started going out when I was 18. He was the love of my life. However, when i was 20 I was eating with a good friend of mine at Burger King one afternoon, all of a sudden, I got a picture in my mind of my boyfriend kissing another girl. Exactly eight days later I walked in on my boyfriend and another girl kissing and they were in a very comprising position.

I was also able to see where my mother lost her job when I was only 15 years old and she did indeed  get let go from her job  due to downsizing. I knew ahead of time that my aunt would have a heart-attack.

All my life I could from time to time see some tragedy that would happen to me or a family member. The problem is, It is always something bad that I see, never anything good or happy. For that reason, I would rather not get these visions. I do not have to be asleep. They are not dreams it is that all of sudden I will get a picture in my head and what ever it is I see will soon happen!

When my life flashed before my eyes

Back about five years ago I was extremely ill, suffering from emphysema, weak heart, swollen liver and severe metabolic acidosis all caused by ethylene glycol poisoning which brought me so close to death that it caused me to have my life flash by my eyes.

I had heard about this phenomena before and had often wondered about it, anyway my experience was extremely detailed though it limited itself to looking at all aspects related to everything I had, seen, learned, heard and though in the field of biology, human physiology, medicine, herbs, chemistry and biochemistry, like if my mind was accessing every aspect of my life that could hold information useful to saving my own life. After it browsed through my own life it continued back beyond my own birth, into the life experience of my mother, Siw, with the same limited aspect, continued on to my grandmother, Marie, and even back to my great-grandmother, Lydia, which actually was a great healer and herbalist back in her time. (For more on my connection with my great-grandmother Lydia read: Guided by Lydia, the Spirit of My Great-Grandmother)

The wealth of ethnobotanical information was so immense but still depicted in absolute clarity and everything was available simultaneously, so when the reverse flash was over I instantly started writing down the note on what I had learned, and was able to make myself a cure using everything in the flash and came up with a solution using pure lemon juice which bypasses the part in the glycolysis severed by the ethylene glycol poisoning by entering directly into the Krebs cycle. Use of salmiak salt to shift the body from its ever worsening cycle caused by the poisoning into producing Urea, which also help removing part of the CO2 and CO which was building up in my blood and muscles, due to lung damage. And a mixture of 100% cocoa melted in rice milk, sweetened with honey, real licorice, natural vanilla beans and a dab of olive oil to help it dissolve, which helped stabilizing the liver functions, stabilized the heart beat and blood-chemistry enough that my body could start the repairing it had been unable to get started on for months.

Within hours of starting on my newly discovered natural method for healing myself I felt a lot better than in months, it still took months to fully recover but It did work exactly as the knowledge within opened up to me through my near death experience of seeing all the information in the flash of a moment.

A Stormy Dream

Several years ago my mother told me about a dream she had and, that it worried her. She stated that in the dream our house was destroyed by a storm and that she wasn't sure if anyone in the family survived. I listened to her as she told me all about it. However, I didn't worry about it too much as my mother, sweet and awesome as she was, always was one to worry.

About 3 nights after she told me about her dream I was not spending the night at home and my father was at his graveyard shift job about 20 miles away from our home. That night, there was a tornado (we almost never had tornadoes in our part of Pa.) However, that night there was one and needless to say it touched down in our yard and our house was destroyed. Except for the one room my mother and the poodle were in. My mom was asleep in her room and the poodle was with her and it was the only room that was still standing of our house.

As soon as I heard the news on the radio the next morning I jumped in my car and rushed to our house but a mile away I could drive any further due to trees across the road so I walked the rest of the way. As I approached our house, all i could see was downed trees and parts of our house and the neighbors house strewn all over the place, I looked at our house and saw that only one room was still standing and it was my parents bedroom. I ran up to what was left of the house, my heart beating wildly and trying to see anything that would let me know that my mother was still alive. there were emergency crews all over the place as well as police cars. One of the paramedics told me there was a lady trapped inside the house. I looked in the window and saw my mother and the poodle sitting on her bed.

It took what seemed like forever to get my mother and the poodle free from the twisted mess that use to be a house but when they were finally able to free my mother and, after a medical check was done to assure she was OK, my mother was taken by police car to my older brothers house and I followed in my car.

later that night I was talking to my mother and she looked at me and told me that she tried to warn me about it because she saw it in her dream a few nights before. I never again doubted my mother's ability to tell of  impending danger  by way of her dreams and to be honest, it was truly not the last time she knew of something before the event took place.

The Prayer Rock

My Mother carried with her a small rock that is placed in a small cloth sack and tied shut with a silk ribbon. I can remember when I was just a little boy of 5 years old or maybe 7 years old I kept seeing this sack and sometimes when we would leave the house I would see my mother slip it into her purse. One day I remember asking Mom just what it was. She also told me that someday it would be mine.

I didn't pay to much attention to her words about it because as a child all I saw was a small rock. At that age I had a very hard time thinking that a rock could make any difference in my life. However, Later my Mom told me that the rock was blessed by an angel. Now how that came about and how my mother knew that it had been blessed by an angel I do not know. Mom just always seemed to know that.

As I grew up my mom started to have serious health problems and ended up in the hospital several times. To make a long story short, each time the doctors said she would not make it due to her diseased and very weak heart. However, each time my mother went to the hospital I grabbed her prayer rock and took it out and started praying for her recovery. My mother had a love for life and I didn't want her to die young, so when this started to happen she was only in her 50's and each time she went to the hospital her heart was weaker then the last time.

It seemed like the prayers and the prayer rock worked. As my mother did recover and lived to be 80 years old before she passed on. I now have the prayer rock, as she said I would and believe me there has been many many times that I have used it.

A Blessing from my dead Mother-in-Law to be

I had never met my mother in law, since she passed away a few years prior to meeting my significant other. This happened in his hometown of Gettysburg, Pa.

During my second night staying there with my soon husband to be, I got this dream that his mother came to the bedroom, she spoke to me in my dream, and appeared to me as I had seen her on his family pictures. The dream was brief as she told me her full name, including her middle name which no one had ever told me, she said how happy I made her feel, seeing that her son had found the one he would be with, and told me that she was so proud of me, and that she knew I was the right one for her son, the final words was to watch over her baby boy, and she leaned forward and gave me kiss on the cheek, and a hug.

At this instant I woke up, I felt the spot on my cheek that she kissed me at, and It felt like I had really been given a hug. I told my fiancé what I had just experienced that night and shared the message and the full name she had given me to let her know it was really her. He looked at me with disbelief in his eyes but he soon accepted what I shared with him because there was no doubt in my soul that this was really the blessing for our marriage from his diseased mother.

Later that same day we visited her grave, and I got this feeling of inner peace, I think this was my mother-in-law touching my soul again, confirming the dream and for giving our respect at her resting place.

Sylvia Browne, Psychic and Medium

One of the most well known and talked about psychics today is Sylvia Browne. Below is the link to her official web site. http://www.sylvia.org/home/index.cfm

I have met this wonderful lady at the Hawaii convention center here in Honolulu a few years ago. I was attending one of her live presentations there and I was very skeptical of her claims to be able to see the future and communicate with the dead.

Now I am a believer in her claims. As I explain to you why I believe this women please remember that until I saw this lady in Honolulu, I have never talked with her or wrote her or emailed her in anyway. I also had no contact with anyone who works for her. Also allow me to explain to you that Sylvia Browne as never stated at anytime that she is always correct in her readings. No psychic is always 100 percent correct all the time. Psychics can see a vision and miss read what it means much as you might have a dream and think it means one thing when really, it means something different. Or, Someone may say something to you and for whatever reason you might misunderstand what they are saying. It has happened to all of us at times so why would anyone think it cannot happen to a psychic.

Some people have tried to debunk Ms. Browns for years and years but yet these people always seem to fall short of busting her as being a fake. the reason I believe her is very simple. At this event I attended, I as many others was given a chance to go up front and ask her (one) question. When it was my turn i simply ask her if she could tell me anything at all about my Mother. Now remember guys, I never had any contact with Ms. Browne before and I never had any contact with anyone who worked for her. This was my very first time in seeing this woman in person.

When I asked her to tell me something about my Mother, this is what she said..... Well in late march of the year 2000 You're Mother passed on after a very long Illness. She was in great pain and discomfort up until a few hours before she died. At that point she felt good but, just tired. less then an hour later she had passed on. She wants to know if you found the letter she wrote to you and you're sister in the family safe to be opened upon her death. She also said my Mother died of a heart issue but not a heart attack.

Well, her answer brought me to tears because Sylvia Browne was 100 percent correct. My Mother did die in late March in the year 2000. She was in great pain up until a hour before she died and at that point she did tell me and a nurse that she felt good but tired and she also asked for some juice to drink. The nurse brought the juice and my Mother drank it and a little less of an hour she said she was sleepy and she went to sleep and died in her sleep. My Mother's death was caused by heart failure. The doctor was there when she died and he stated her heart just got tired and weak and stopped beating. Also, I might point out that about a month after my Mother died I was looking at some things in the family safe and I did indeed find a letter written by my Mother addressed to my sister and I that said to be opened upon my death

I find it impossible for Ms. Browne to know all the details about my Mothers death unless of course Ms. Browne is the REAL thing and I truly believe that Sylvia Browne is indeed the Real thing.

Sometimes I See Things

Photo by PJ, Honolulu, Hawaii 2005
This comes to us from Shawn in Ohio
My Dad always insisted that our family take two vacations a year . The whole family together as both my parents were professionals and worked a lot and dad always said that vacations were the only time the whole family was together at the same time.

So when I was about ten years old. We loaded up the car and started on our vacation for that year. My Mom, Dad, and my older brother and I were all set to go and have a good time. It is important to note that this took place 40 years ago. As we were driving through Kentucky I began to get very tired and sleepy as it was in the middle of the night. I somehow managed to fall asleep in the crowed car but only slept for about an hour. When I woke up I heard my Dad complain that the gas tank was on empty as he forgot to fill it up before we left home.

My poor Dad was having a fit because he was so afraid we would run out of gas in Kentucky in the middle of the night. I said, "Dad don't sweat it coz there is a 24 hour store around the corner and hey sell gas. He asked me how I knew that as I had never been anywhere close to Kentucky before and I had also been asleep so if there would have been a road sign ( there wasn't ) I would not have seen it.

Well, sure enough when we rounded the next curve there was a 24 hour dinner that sold Texaco gasoline. After my Dad filled the tank and got us all some food and drink he asked me how I knew that. I informed him that I really did not know how I knew, I just knew.

Ever since then I somehow just knew some things before they happened. Mostly things that had to do with family members or real close friends of the family. I remember telling my Mother one time when I was twelve years old that if she wanted to see her sister again, she should go see her very soon because I just knew she was not going to be around any longer.

My Mother went across town to see her sister the very next day and she told her sister what I had said and her sister just laughed it off. However two days later her sister was killed in a car crash by a drunken driver.

It isn't always bad things I know a head of time . Sometimes It is good things too. One night at a store, I convinced my brother to but a lottery ticked from a new pack that the clerk had just opened. My brother went ahead and bought it but he insisted that the first ticket was never a winner. My brother needed fifty dollars to pay off a ring he was buying for his girl friend's birthday. He just couldn't seem to come up with that last fifty dollars. Once we got into my car he scratched the ticket off and it was a fifty dollar winner.

I do not always know what will happen but I sometimes know something will happen to a person. If I get a warm feeling about a person or event then I know it is something good that will happen. If I get a cold fear come over me then I know it is something bad. In cases of a person who will die soon I sometimes will see a face or get a few letters of that persons name. This is a gift I know, However it is not a gift I want but, God wanted me to have it so therefore, I will use it to do my best for my family and friends.

The Falling Photo

In our family home in Gettyburg, PA, my Mother kept a photo of her sister in Baltimore, MD, hanging on the wall in the living room. She had it in a nice frame right on the wall for all to see. One night right before it got dark my Mother was sitting in her favorite chair and was talking about her sister (Sandy). She was explaining to me that she couldn't stop thinking her sister all day and she was going to call her before she went to bed that evening.

As soon as she said that, the photo fell off the wall and the glass in the frame must have gone into a thousand pieces all over the floor. The first thing my Mother did when it fell was she picked up the phone and started to make a call. I ask her who she was calling as I was carrying a broom and dust pan into the room to clean the broken glass up off the floor. My Mother informed me that when a photo falls off a wall that usally means that whoever the photo was of has just died and she wanted to call and make sure her sister was ok.

She dialed and then hung up saying that her sister's line was busy. As soon as my Mother finished telling me that our phone rang and my Mother answered it and she began to cry. After she hung up from the phone call she told me that it was a call about her sister. It seems he sister was at her home and suffered a stroke and fell down the stairs and died. It was not the stroke that killed her but instead it was the head injuries she had received from the fall.

I never was very superstitious but still after that, I do not hang photos of loved ones on any wall.

Nana is Watching Over Us

Sky "angel" photo taken by Jonina Oskarsdottir

This is another story from Cathy in Gettysburg, PA
When my granddaughter was around 1 year old, I was feeding her as she sat in her highchair. She looked around me and very clearly, said "Hi Nana" as she waved. I turned around and said, "Hi Mom!" as I knew my Mom was there. She had passed away 5 years earlier and my granddaughter had not met her in life, but I knew she met and knew her spirit.

A year or so later, I was holding another granddaughter, around 1 yr old, looking at some pictures on the wall. She pointed to a picture of my Mom and said "Nana". Spooky? Not at all. I firmly believe my Mom is here watching over us and visiting the babies.

As babies, the girls (independently) would be jibber jabbering to someone and if you asked them who they were talking to they'd say Nana. Stuff like that. It was very evident that Nana was around. This was definitely a baby/toddler thing as they rarely talk of her anymore.

They are now 8 and 10. It was always comforting to me that she was watching over them (and still is, no doubt!). I think that the older you get and the more innocence lost, it becomes harder or they have more things on their minds (but "Nana" is in the background.) Do you understand what I am trying to say? A lot of older kids wouldn't want to talk about something like that, you know? It would embarrass them of make them feel weird or something. I admit I have not asked the kids about her. I feel the memory is with each of them to treasure always.
