The Blue Light Cemetery - Spring, Texas

It was the summer of 2005, my friends and I were young and daring. I had known for years that there was a supposedly haunted cemetery in our area, but had never gotten around to checking it out. A friend had mentioned that there had been some cult activity their throughout the 70's and 80's, which only made it that more luring. On a typical boring afternoon I managed to talk a friend into making the 30 minute drive into the boonies to check this place out! It was a good thing that we found The Blue Light Cemetery during the day, due to its remote location deep in Piney woods. After a lot of searching, we found ourselves at an overgrown locked gate marked no trespassing. Well then we turned around and went home. No, I am just yanking your chain because this is where our story begins!

The entrance to the place is an unkept dirt road, certainly not used for vehicle access due to it's narrowness and forest intrusion. At night time the forest around the road is pitch black. About half of a mile down, the road opens into a field where you get your view of the cemetery. My friend and I spent a few hours walking around checking graves and the area. It was interesting because some of the graves dates as far back as the late 1700's. There were many older graves in the forest along a network of old trails circling the cemetery. A few creepy things that we noticed during our day trip were a few rope nooses handing from random trees, a very large wooden cross that seemed anything but holy and a erie "alter" like platform high in the surrounding Ponderosa Pines. The platform must have been 100 feet of the ground at a height far to high for hunting or children playing.

When we returned to the cemetery around eleven it was all dark! We noticed that as we entered the field the darkness lifted as the glow of the cemetery invited us. I don't know if blue is how I would explain it, but there was a fog that seemed to set in as we arrived. I have heard that the moon, swamp gas and bla bla bla can play tricks on the mind, but not here. If there was doubt in my mind, my best friend and my brother were along my side. It was creepy! The one thing that really caught our attention that evening was a small fold out chair that was placed in the corner of the cemetery. This chair was not there earlier! The chair was in a place overlooking the entire cemetery. We didn't see much that evening but should not have returned!

The second visit is not even worth talking about. A few guys wandering around the forest searching for a thrill that can't be explained. When you encounter something that has no logical explanation, it is a rush equal to doing over 150 mph or jumping of a 50 ft cliff. That is what led us back again.

The third visit was a little different. We arrived around 2 AM and decided that the cemetery was not enough. As we were walking through the trails we came to a place where it was still. Complete silence, and then voices..... Loud voices, not our voices! This also happened to be right by that "alter" I referred earlier in the trees. As we split, this thing followed us all the way tot he road. It chased us! chanting all the while. We all made it to my jeep thinking our troubles were over. Again we were in for a treat!

As I turned on my jeep, we instantly noticed that there was a big problem with my stereo. Instead of music there was white noise. The noise changed pitches from low tones to high pitched, back and forth. I kept switching from CD to radio, but there was nothing but white noise. This had never happened before and we were unable to find a logical explanation. At the time I had a very expensive after market stereo which never had any issues. I even asked an expert installer at the stereo shop and he said that he had never encountered an issue like this white noise. The noise continued until we got back into civilization and everything with the stereo went back to normal The noise that we heard was a warning to us for us to never come back. It was clear between the three of us that whatever chased us out of the forest that evening was present in the jeep on the way home. That was our encounter at the Blue Light Cemetery, which was much scarier if you were there.

Spooked Out By the Rose Hill Cemetery

The Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton Ohio.

This is a story from Sandy in Hamilton, Ohio.
My mother had a paranormal experience when she was 16 she told me that she and her friends were out joyriding in her friends car, my mom had said this was on a friday night, around 11 or so, like most teens they got bored and decided to go up to Rosehill Cemetery which isn't far from my home, mom also stated that the friends car was parked close to the huge black iron gate on the other side there was a lighted cross.

She said her and her friends were talking and she had said that she felt someone tapping on her shoulder and when she turn around there was a apparition of a girl dressed in the 50's style clothing. She stated her friends saw it too and they were so scared that the got in the car and drove home. Although theres a story of a young girl who was walking to a prom and was hit by a car, I don't know if It's the same girl who knows, but however, I do go to that cemetery a lot and it still creeps me out, I always feel like I'm being watched.

The Haunted Bachelor's Grove Cemetery, Midlothian, Illinois

Orb by the Bachelor's Grove by N.L Mennella

Todays article was sent to us by N.L Mennella, in Midlothian, Illinois

Six years ago, I decided to check out Bachelor's Grove, the famously "haunted" abandoned cemetery in Midlothian, Illinois. I've lived near it all my life but never saw it, despite all its haunted claims. From a lady in white searching for her child to mobsters bodies being thrown in the pond;  this place had many a story.

I was a complete skeptic of the paranormal at the time but tried to stay as open minded as I could. I brought my 35mm camera and my digital and took off.  It has been told that you will get evidence of any kind when shooting photos at the Grove, no matter what. Well, I was there alone during the daytime and all I was getting was mosquito bites and heat rash while taking photos; I decided to investigate on a hot humid July day.  I was there for a good hour when it started raining, so I headed back to the parking lot on the other side of the cemetery.

I got to the middle of the woods and decided what the hell, even though I don't believe in spirits, let me thank them for letting me "visit."  So I stopped and said "thank you."  I started to walk again and suddenly heard whispers. I turned around but no one was there. I started walking again and heard the whispers again, this time a little louder.  I stopped, turned and said, "Is someone trying to communicate with me?"  Silence.  As I walked away I swore I heard "welcome..."  I just shrugged it off and went to have my film developed.  It was probably just some kids playing around the area or on the local bike path.  It was a little strange but nothing to set me running.

I had my film developed and brought it home. All the pictures where of the tombstones, pond, trees-nothing out of the ordinary.  As I was putting them away one picture of the pond caught my eye.  A strange orb is seen floating above the water.  I studied it and studied it, but I couldn't explain it.  Was it a spirit?  Did I actually catch a "ghost" on film?  Or was this a fluke, a malfunction of the camera or the film?  I was baffled, and I am to this day.  Here is the picture;  I will have you decide. I have been to Bachelor's Grove half a dozen times since, but have not captured anything else on film.  Hmmmm....
Maybe this was the spirit saying you're welcome?

The Hauntings of the Gettysburg Battlefield

The Battle of Gettysburg July 2. 1863

Gettysburg, Pa. is one of the most haunted towns in the United States if not the world. It is safe to say that there are places all over Gettysburg that are haunted. Some of these hot spots are; Devils Den, Rose Farm, Triangular Field, Culps Hill and Cemetery Hill.

The Devil's Den

Actually, Devil's Den was haunted even before the battle of Gettysburg, Native Americans reported a battle there, and that is why the name Devil's Den was given to it. People have reported being approached by apparitions at Devil's Den as well as being touched while at this location. I myself have been at Devils Den and each time have felt as if I was being watched and two times have seen a purple haze on the top of the rocks. A Purple haze has been reportedly seen all over the battlefield.

The Rose Farm

Another place that is one of the most haunted places on the battle field is the Rose Farm. The Rose Farm was used as a makeshift hospital after the battle. Very, very many soldiers died at the Rose Farm and most were buried outside the farmhouse in rows. There has been many reports from both visitor and locals alike who say they have  seen apparitions there and people do warn others not to go to the Rose Farm or Devil's Den. I have been at the Rose farm and I have seen partial apparitions on two occasions both  times outside the house around the area where the soldiers were buried.

The Triangular Field

The Triangular Field has been reported by many to be haunted it has long been said and, I myself have experienced that electrical equipment will not work there. Things such as cameras not working, batteries of all kinds suddenly drained of power, radios stop working there, both car and two way radios. I remember a time when my friend and I went to Triangular Field to check it out for ourselves. We took three photos and the camera itself did work at first but then died on us a few minutes later and also, on our third trip there our car battery did indeed die on us. My friend had his own dark room and when he developed the three photos, they all three came out  with just a blue/gray color to them. NO photo, just a solid blue/gray back ground with no photo at all.

The Culps Hill

Culps Hill and Cemetery Hill. It is reported that at both places one can smell vanilla and peppermint from the scented handkerchiefs the locals would put across their mouths and nose in the days after the battle. If they didn't cover them then, they would throw up  due to the smell of dead bodies rotting in the hot July sun. Also there have been reports of locals and visitors seeing ghost in the form of a huge mist or haze wondering the hills. I have been both places and I have never smelled anything unusual However, I have indeed seen the strange mist. Another place where there have been reports of phantom regiments is up Cemetery Ridge.

Cemetery Hill

If you want to find out for yourself about these places, go visit them and spend some time, if you dare. You can see things and hear things as well as smell things at the battlefield and, around the Gettysburg area all year long. However, because of what ( I ) think is residual energy on the battlefield, Most of the activity tales place in the summer and especially during the first week of july because the battle of Gettysburg was fought on July 1st-2nd and-3rd. I have heard that many National Park Rangers who patrol the battlefield over the years have actually asked for transfers because of the ghostly activity on the Gettysburg Battlefield !
