Three Scratches

This stretch over six years, the first time was in the summer of 1999 and the last time in the summer of 2005. Over these six years I would at regular intervals find mysterious scratches on my back, always in the pattern of three scratches and always on the back of my left shoulder, in a downward angle towards the spine. At first I thought I had somehow scratched myself, and even tried to see if I could somehow have made the scratch in my sleep with my own hand, I found the angle to be impossible for me to replicate but didn't' think too much about it, the scratches healed normally and soon there was not even a slightest mark showing where they had once been. 


Then a few weeks later I came out of the shower and as I looked in the back behind me into the mirror there the the scratches were back and again exactly as described before, this time I started thinking perhaps it somehow was my sun pendant that I wore around my neck, it did have some kind of sharp edges and could have moved to the back of me and be making the marks one at a time as I would roll around in my sleep, again I tried replicating the scratches using my pendant but found it could not even break the skin or that deep of a single scratch unless one used much more force than I was capable of doing. Also again the placement of the scratches was odd compared to where my pendant would be if it moved to the back, and for it to recreate the exact same three scratches so well aligned to each other twice in a row. 


As the scratches healed It left my mind again until the third time this time I was not even wearing my sun pendant and I noticed them as woke up putting my hand on the back of my left shoulder, thinking not again, I checked my bed to see if there was anything in the bed itself that could made any marks, but nothing, there was no marks of blood on my white bed sheets either. This time I also started feeling more, there was like a dark presence was in the room, and It was stealing my strength.


The fourth time the three scratches appeared my lush plants started to mysteriously die, and while asleep one would sometime wake up from the sound of growling. Look over at the plants and see them shaking, and moving as if something was there hiding inside the thick leaves, and within it there was a deep darkness that would not go away even when the lights were on.


I turned to the holy bible for strength and this seemed to ease things as there was no appearance of new scratches for months, winter turned to summer and I even traveled to the United States to visit some friends, then it happened again as I woke up at my friends place in the States, he was shaking me "Jussi, Jussi! There is some marks on your left shoulder, did you scratch yourself while  asleep?". I went to the bathroom and checked sure there they were again, the same three deep scratches, and not I was not even in Finland, which is my home country. The scratches healed quicker though, within just 2 days they were gone, only to return deeper on the third day. IT was also followed by an episode of me turning paralyzed unable to move for 24 hours, pinned to the bed I just slept like never before, it was like a great force was just draining every bit of strength for me, and then all of a sudden it was all gone again. 


I returned to Finland and a few months went by with no new episodes, I even moved out of my dorm to a new place before the three scratches returned with a vengeance, this time my new room mate actually witnessed it happen while I was asleep, laying on my side, and as my roommate Olavi moved closer to wake me up he realized I was also levitating just slightly above the bed. "Jussi! I can't believe my eyes! something is going on! You were hovering above the bed!!" He said in Finnish, and then he went on telling me about how he watched the three scratches appear out of no where, and as he moved closer he had noticed I was levitating. So I told him about all my other previous incidences of the scratches, and he convinced me to have the church come in and give me a blessing. 


After the blessing things were quiet for about three years until I moved out of the place in Finland and to a new place, it was almost as if each time one moved out of a new prepared sanctuary what ever which was taunting me with these scratches were able to reach me again. only to be kept on hold until again new opportunities opened up after new changes. Finally in the summer of 2005 I were able to find a permanent closure using a combination of burning incense, candles, prayers and deeper rebuking of what had been the shadows of myself and then move on with my life. I got married and I have never had another incident of the scratches since then.

Evil Entities - Demons

When we think of demons, we think of an evil, nasty, spirit. The term demon did not always mean that, in its greek origin δαίμων (daimōn) the term was used to refer to any divine entity. It was when christians and the christian faith seem to take over in Rome which already had adapted the greek use of the term, and spread through out the world that the term demon came to be of meaning of an evil spirit. Actually, I believe that a demon is an entity. The word entity can mean several things. For use in my  paranormal field of research and, this entry of the Paranormal Corner, we will refer to the term demon as an evil nasty dangerous entity. A demon was never of this earth and in christian beliefs, demons are the angels that were cast into hell from heaven along with Satan, making the term demons and devils equivalents.

The real problem with a demon is that you could have one in your home and not really know it. As described in Miracles - Gift of Tongue Xenoglossy, a demonic entity tricked someone thinking it was performing miracles and was a good entity. In another account The Possessed Role Play Game book a demonic entity entered a friend of mine through a book describing demonic channeling and conjurations for a game. Another example that show some typical signs of the demonic is in Three Scratches. Demons are also considered by some to be of a different dimension, making them ultra-terrestrial beings. Oppressions and Possessions are some also some of the other tail signs of a Demonic entity at play. Sometimes one get opened up for demonic possessions through practice of black magic or use of Ouija boards, Like described in the entry My first exorcism by Rev. Alaina Damewood. And the entries Possessions and Mary and the Quija Board by Jose Prado. Some members of the demonic are half-breeds like the Hags (Demon witches). Demons are universally affected by Salt, which is used in both protection against and in part for exorcisms.

I am sure that you would know that something was going on and, you may even that there we some kind of paranormal activity happening but, would you be able to tell it was demonic activity? A demon can fool you and make you think it is a nice spirit or a spirit of a loved one that has passed on. After it gains your trust a demon will start it's attacks on you, they are very patient and sometimes wait years slowly breaking you down and then one day moving in for the final blow. Demons can indeed cause you harm and have been known to even make people kill themselves. A demon will have no problem with taking over your body when it has got a foothold by having you accepting it and welcome it into yourself and thus using yourself to make you do its will.

Two of the fastest ways that I know of to cause a demon yo attack you and ruin every thing you have including your relationships, home, job,and even your life, is to use an ouija board and, or attempt a seances. An ouija board should never be used for any reason and a seances should only be attempted with a qualified medium! Even then, there is a chance that an inhuman manifestation could come into your life because you have just opened the door for it by having a seances. You have then in fact, invited it in, an good example how wrong things could go is in the can be read in the entry Mary and the Quija Board.

Some people say you can tell if a spirit is demonic or not by the odor it may cause. An odor of burning, rotten flesh is at times associated with a demonic haunting. A demonic haunting is an intelligent haunting because it can scheme and it is destructive of the person or persons that it is attacking, other phenomena known to be associated with demonic possessions is xenoglossy and phantomania, though phantomania could be present in non demonic experiences too.

There are some people that do not believe in demons as evil inhuman manifestations from Hell. These people tend to believe that some people are the demons and that they are indeed evil people. Everyone is free to believe what ever they choose to believe. For myself, I believe that demons from Hell and other places do indeed exist.

I would advise anyone who has reason to believe that they or a loved one or friend is being possessed by a demon or has a demonic haunting in the home or even on their land to contact a local paranormal investigation team for help and for the most part, paranormal teams do NOT charge for their services. Usually, once a person is possessed by a demon, a blessing needs to be done along with a house blessing and, cleansing along with a religious ceremony and, sometimes a deliverance or if accepted by the Catholic Church as a demonic haunting one could get someone from the Catholic Church to perform the approved exorcism, this is not the only way to do an exorcism, other religions than the christian church can also do this, as described in the entry Remote Exorcism.

Evil entities are mentioned in all religion even though the name for them differ the description of them are eerily similar pointing to the fact that this type of evil demonic haunting is universal and in opposition to all benevolent entities or angelic entities if you like.

An Evil Spirit

When I was 20 years old, I was staying at a female friends house over night. She was truly my best friend and she kept saying she heard strange sounds at night and felt a presence in her bed room. So, I agreed to spend the night with her and see what if anything out of the ordinary would happen. I agreed  to sleep alone in the bedroom and my friend Tina would sleep in the living room.

Tina and I both went to bed at the same time and it was around 11pm. As I entered Tina's bedroom I walked around inside the room looking at everything, in the closet and under her bed and all around the room, All looked normal so I latched the bedroom door from the inside and crawled into bed. I think I fell asleep in just a few minutes.

I know I had a strange dream. A dream of gray clouds and the sound of a strong winds. I could feel the wind on my face and then at 3 am I woke up in a cold sweat. I sat up in bed and looked around. I had let the light on so all looked OK but yet I felt a strong presence in Tina's room. I could see nothing abnormal about or in the room but yet I had a strange feeling that I was not alone in that room.

I laid back down and closed my eyes and then I felt the bed shake and I felt like something was heavy on me and holding me down. So heavy that I had great problems breathing. I  felt whatever this was try to choke me  Then just as soon as it started it stopped. I lay there trying to catch my breath and sweating. It was like I could not move. I fell back asleep and woke up about two hours later. I remembered everything that happened in the hours before. As I got out of bed and walked past the full length mirror, I could see scratches on both my legs. (Read entry on Phantomania for more information on this phenomena)

I do not know what evil spirit it was in Tina's room that night. However, that very day I and a friend moved Tina out of that house and let her stay in the extra room at my Mother's house until she found another place to stay.

The Haunted Primary School Stage

This is one of the scariest experiences that I've had in my childhood, and it was experienced not only by me but by all of my 5th grade primary class of 23 students back in Norway. It all started one windy cold autumn day during recess, usually we were not allowed to stay inside the school between classes, but since the teachers had declared the weather outside to be bad enough that we could play inside instead.

I do not recall how this started but I do think it all began with a dare from some of the boys to the girls, we had all heard that our school was supposed to be haunted, and the best spot would be in the basement bomb-shelter behind the school stage, and it was to us known as behind Amfi, which was dark and a part that none of us had ventured to before.

I stayed in the sloped entrance area about 15 yards up from the school stage, with 4 of my friends, we had a perfect view as 15 of our friends disappeared into the dark, and the rest stayed at the stage preparing to enter in to join the exploration towards the bomb-shelters. Then all of the sudden we heard screams from the darkness, and watched our friends running towards us in panic out of the dark, but their faces did not look normal, it was like they were wearing a gray mask making them look inhuman, and it was not only me that saw that. All of us up in the entrance had the exact same experience of the event happening only 15 yards away from us. 

When we all got upstairs I noticed and brought to attention that my friend Tordis' left hand had a deep rift in it and was covered in blood, he was one of those that had gone deepest into the area behind the stage, but was unaware that he had been hurt before we brought it to his attention. More-so when we as a group described what had happened, both the girls and the boys in the darkness had heard a deep voice speaking to them, there, and they had felt a presence that filled them with fear and caused them all to run back up in panic. None of us ever went back behind the stage.

Don't Go Into The woods

A few weeks ago I started jogging. I always jog in a wooded area for about a mile. At the same spot I always hear a voice whispering ...stay out... No one is ever around but I hear a voice in a whisper telling me not to go into the wooded area any further. I have always listened and turned and jogged back the way I came from. I told a close friend about what I hear and she said it was all in my mind. So I felt she was correct and the next time I went for my jog I indeed heard the same voice in a demanding whisper warning me NOT to go deeper into the wooded area. However, this time I did not listen to the voice and I did jog deeper into the wooded area.

I jogged about 3 more blocks deeper into the wooded area and then I started to feel light headed. I was wondering what was making me feel so faint and the last thing I remember until I woke up on the ground about 4 hours later with scratches all over my body, It felt very sore the next couple of days. I visited my doctor and the scratches could not be explained. There was 40 different scratches on my body and the doctor said they looked like someone scratching using their fingernails.

I never went back into the woods after that. I do wonder who or what attacked me after I fainted and I also wonder what is in the woods that the voice do not want me to see.

The Possessed Role Play Game Book

Thank you Nina for todays contribution.
I must say that this was one of the most frightening experiences I ever had to look into, it all happened when a friend of mine once bought a Dungeons and Dragons role play game book, from a second hand store in Tromsø, Norway, the catch is he got more than he bargained for.

For years he would wake up with mysterious scratch marks on his back, shaped like if made by a triple clawed being, I saw the claw marks myself and they were indeed in angles, and locations that would have been extremely hard for him to make on his own, he even showed me the book in question. It did indeed feel like very eerie and I felt like filled with fear when I for the first time held the book in my hand.

He complained about seeing mysterious shadows in the corner of his eye, while living in his dorm, and any plants he put up would mysteriously wilt and die. He also experienced xenoglossy, the ability to speak and read languages he could not possible know himself (Read my entry Miracles - Gift of Tongue - Xenoglossy). I have heard stories before that one should be careful with some role play games since some of them has a dark side, the book he happened to buy was about demons, and how to summon them in the game terms, not that he ever did that himself, but perhaps the previous owner did.

The episodes of the mysterious events continued, making him more and more ill, claiming it sometimes spoke to him, and even gave its name, which belonged to the ancient Sumeria. I would not share the name because of the evil nature of demons, but by my advice he sought help of the clergy, got blessed and by a many month long battle he managed to expel the demon, all his sickness disappeared over night, and made him a true believer in the divine and still a firm church attender.
