When Animals Heal Humans Injury by Force

Norwegian Red Cow with Horns, same breed as the one
my mother and grandmother kept at their farms.
Photo by Ernst Vikne 2009, Norway, cortesy of Wikimedia commons

My mother had problems with her back and spine for years, an old back injury from when she fell as a child while playing with her brothers and sisters at their farm.

The only solution the doctors had for her back problems were pain management, she had been to therapist, chiropractors, specialists of all sorts and even went to acupuncture and none of them were able to do more than short term relief but never able to fix the problem.

Now at the age of 53 something happened one of the cows for no reason gave her a power nudge strong enough to make her fly from infront of the cow all the way above the back of the cow and then about 5 yards until she hit the iron grates behind the cows that is used for removing manure. Never had her back looked this bad, it was purple and blue from the neck to the lower spine, all numbed up but not swollen. It also happened that she was scheduled to see the chiropractor later that week, which she figured would be a good thing so he could check out the injury the cow had caused to her already existing old back problems.

The Chiropractor was totally put out by the amount of brusing on my mothers back, and immidiately had her get some x-rays and see if there was anything he could do. When he returned with the new x-rays he had a big smile on his face, he could tell my mother her spine was no longer crocked, there was no sign of injury to the spine, so impressed was he with the change of the before and after x-ray images that he had several other doctors come over and look at them, and check out the impressive bruising on her back and spine. The now group of specialists could tell the muscle tissue on the back was healing normally, since that day when the cow smashed her against the wall her back has not been troubling her anymore. My mothers doctor even told her that she must have had some mighty angels guarding her because based on the amount of force her back had suffered in the fall it should have smashed it not streightned it out and healed the old injury from 45 years earlier.

My grandmother also had something similar happening to her, she had one year previous hurt her thumb on her left hand, making that hand less than half usefull, now one the bulls at her farm had a fierce look in his eyes, he kept staring at her hand, and as soon as my grandmother got close enough he bounced and pressed the thumb on her left hand against the railing of the bulls booth. As she welched out in pain the bull stopped reared and looked at her like, now you can go. Within a few hours my grandmother realized the thumb was no longer in pain and when she checked she was able to move it again, it was totally healed from the one year old injury, and she never had any problems with that hand or thumb again.

The last example is a experience I had myself as a child, I was my first day of chickenpox and our tomcat Pelle gave me this deep stare, he was the gentlest of cats and he was always with me wherever I went, he had never hurt me but this time he walked streight up to me stared me in the eyes and then at a peticular big pox on the middle of my nose. Lightning fast he struck it with his claws out and then walked away like there my work is done, your pox is done. within 24 hours of that my pox were gone, leaving me with less than 2 full days of the chickenpox, while all my cousins had it for almost a week and one even had it for 10 days, they were mad at me for being able to come over to visit when I contracted it after them and I now was already immune. I often wonder what was it our grey tomcat Pelle did, since he seemed to know exactly what to do like the pox blister on my nose was the main one and by "slaying" it he broke the pox and forced it back before its time.

Since then, I have heard many accounts of people's pets making them well again. In each account, the pet would look at it's sick owner in a strange way and then almost attack their owner by scratching them or, biting them or, kicking them and even licking them and then as magic, their owner gets well very fast. My question is, How do our pets know we are sick and how do they know what to do to make us better again ?

Why do I believe in Saint Francis? By Reverend Alaina Damewood

Saint Francis statue at the Mission of Nombre de Dios

For years I questioned myths about saints , angles and animals have always intrigued me but I used to think they where all just myths . Until I started experience my own divine in counter about 6 years ago. It started as a normal day after getting out of a long day of doing ministry work at a local college some of my friends asked me to go with them to the store and out to eat. We went to a local store to pick up some things for their work as well as I went there to come up with things to get to actives for the kids at the colledge .

After getting out of the store we decided to walk to the other end of the shopping center to grab food before the friend who had been driving us dropped all of our friends back to where we needed to go to. We started walking when my friends Shawn and Adam stated : Alaina that bird is following you . I told them just to keep walking and maybe it would go away , so we continued to walk down to the place to grab food , as the bird kept walking behind me. We got to the door of the place we where going to eat at and the bird was still behind my feet .

Shawn turned to me and stated Alaina what are you going to do about that bird? I said I will take care of it I turned and looked to the animal and stated Saint Francis of Assisi you can not come into the eating place with us while your in a birds body . The bird started acting like a normal bird and then became afraid of me like a normal animal and flew off. I questioned to my self was that really Francis as I went inside the restraint to join my friends . After we got out all of us walked back up to the other end of the parking a lot and got into my friends car to be dropped off . I asked Shawn to take me back home first since I was the closets one in the area then take our other friends back . So Shawn agreed to drive me back first. The second we pulled up into the drive away to where I lived , another bird of the same type flew down off a tree and sat right on the top of Shawn's car. Then I turned and looked at Shawn with his face being in panic and I said what is wrong he said my car will not start . The bird flew off his car as I turned and said thanks Francis for the warning . This was my first experience feeling like the saint of animals was watching my back.

The second event occurred up in Huntington WV where I had went with another friend to get his girls so they could come down and stay a few days with spending time with my kids. We where over at a store and a bird was following his car . Then I turned and looked at my friend saying I think we need to pull over . My friend asked why , I turned looked at my friend and said I just have a feeling something is getting ready to happen. So we pulled over then he receive a phone call saying his girls where not going to make it down because there had been a family emergency . My friend turned and looked at me and said how did you know . I said the little bird who was following us since our last stop did not leave and keep flying beside us . Then my friend who was a devoted roman right catholic turned around and said are you familiar with saint Francis the saint of animals ? I said yes and I believe he was the one warning us about your girls. My friend looked smiled and said Alaina I guess the legends about him are true . I smiled and said I like to think so.

This is the reason I believe in saint Francis and other saints because ever time when I think he is not watching I have another bird or other animal does something to warn me about events . I also like to think all the other myths about , angles , saints are real to some degree to . Because every time something happens to me . I question who is going to help me now and it makes we wonder what else is real that we do not pay attention to because of people saying they are just myths.

Psychic Abilities: Animal Links

Illustration of a Raven Corvus corax
By Bryce Canyon National Park

In many ways animal links are very similar to animal affinity, and I would say it is some sort of empathy. I am here going to describe what my friend TJ from Vadsø, Norway, told me about her personal experiences of becoming linked with animals and how she told me how this felt like she knew what they were planning or experiencing. I can personally relate to this as I have myself experienced animal links similar to this myself like in my entry Dreams of a Lost Cat.

The first one TJ told me about, was how she felt she linked with an old Raven. This happened in Northern Norway near an old fence. On this fence she noticed an elderly looking raven that watched her car as it passed on its way to the city. Two hours later, when she returned from the city the same raven was still on the same spot of the fence, but this time it took off and flew over the car. As it passed it she looked up seeing the raven had many gray and white feathers underneath.

Now she got a strong feeling that the Raven felt it was too old and would now land in front of the moving car to end itself. TJ slowed down before the raven even headed downward, and was able to stop the car before it hit it. However, the raven had landed right in front of TJ's car. TJ looked at the raven thinking no old raven, I am not going to be the one to end your life. A few days she noticed the same ancient raven sitting on the same spot as earlier, again it tried the exact same thing before it moved off the road and she never saw it again, maybe it managed to find another car to end it's life, to pass over over to the Happy Hunting Grounds in another way.

The next story TJ shared with me was how she felt she had linked with another animal. Once again while she was driving the same part of the road towards the city of Vadsø, the very same part that  one year earlier she had experienced the link with the old raven. However, this time she linked with a sheep and her two young lambs.

While she drove, the sheep were running and TJ suddenly felt the sheep were changing their mind and were going to shoot off in the opposite direction right towards the car. TJ for some reason knew that they would turn and run towards her car. She also knew that, if she did not slow down, she would not be able to avoiding hitting the sheep with her car.Just as the mother sheep and her lambs did indeed turn and run right in front of TJ's car, TJ's car came to a full stop and she was able to avoid hitting the mother sheep and her young lambs.

There have been many cases where, a person has been able to tell what an animal might do and, that person was able to ingage an  in an action to make the situation come out of the better. I am not talking about slowing down because you see a dog on the road side thinking that dog might run out in front of your car. Rather, seeing that dog or another animal looking the other way and running the other way and yet, You do stop your car or slow down because something tells you that animal rather it be a dog, cat, cow, deer, or whatever, will do an about face and put it's self in danger

The Countess and Old Billy In The Bull

Courtesy of Wikimedia commons
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Angus_cattle_24.jpg?uselang=nb

This story is of a more explicit nature than usual for our Paranormal Corner Blog. We therefore warn that some might find the aroused descriptions offensive. This story was shared with us by Brigitte and Nils in Moorhead, Minnesota.

This happened back a few years ago while we still had a small diary farm, one of our neighbors, Old Billy used to come over quite frequently sometimes just to talk the latest gossip especially to visit Brigitte which he referred to as "The Countess" and other times to be social with the farm animals. One of our young black Angus bulls, Markos especially bonded with Old Billy with a mutual respect and reverence between the two.

Now Old Billy had always been quite a ladies man, and he was well known for his conquests and charm back from his more youthful years, and now still in his advanced age he still pursued the females he fancied, among his favorites were "The Countess". Old Billy would spend hours a day watching as Brigitte worked with the animals, both admiring the bond of the farmers and the animals themselves.

Then in the spring Old Billy had a hearth-attack and passed away. All were as normal at the farm, until about one week after Billy´s funeral, suddenly the one bull Markos, that was the favorite of Old Billy started to act strangely. He did not seem quite like himself at all, at first Brigitte and Nils ignored his tantrums, and they knew there was no cow in heat at that time. Then Nils noticed that their one and a half year old prized black Angus bull, Markos, was responding to Brigitte while she was working with one of the cows across from Markos The Bull, when she would bend over to clean the cows utter, her butt faced the bull and he would get all aroused, breathing heavily, pacing in his stall and show every bit of the response one would expect of a bull when he senses the pheromones of a cow in heat.

When Nils made Brigitte aware that the bull was responding to her she could not believe him in their 25 years of farming they had never seen a single bull act like this before, and on top of that this new behavior was so out of character for this quiet kind and docile bull which now acted aroused watching Brigitte work. She continued working thinking it would pass, but it did not pass, days went by with the bull behaving this way every day. After double checking to see if any of the cows could be in heat Nils and Brigitte confirmed there was no cows in heat and if so the other bulls would have responded to.

Brigitte grew tired of this and figured now, if the bull is truly responding to her as if she is a cow in heat just from observing her working, she decided to see how he respond to a less discreet behavior, she walked over to the bull and flashed her breasts at him, the bull went totally bananas , tongue out, breathing heavily, moaning, groaning and fully exposed himself at the sight of Brigitte. Brigitte tried the same with the other bulls but they hardly even gave her a glance, and continued their usual grazing while the Markos became more and more agitated. Brigitte continued like this for a while until Nils had to tell her to stop, since he was getting concerned the Bull would hurt himself in his bound up but more than ever before aroused stage, that he had ever observed in any bulls.

Then all of the sudden it struck Brigitte, this is Old Billy and I am "The Countess",  he came back and is now inside Markos The Bull, She walked calmly over and said, "Old Billy I know it is you!" Please stop this behavior. The bull looked her deep in the eyes, and all of a sudden it was like the face of the bull changed, he looked down and whatever that had possessed him was now gone and he turned into a everyday run of the mill ordinary bull. In just one instant this day of constantly aroused behavior whenever Birgitte was inside working now turned normal, she even tried flashing her breasts and mooning herself and the bull no longer responded any different than any of the other bulls would.

Old Billy never again took hold of any of the Bulls after he was exposed. Brigitte and Nils still to this day remembers this truly strange experience and they believe it was Old Billy which at that point had not quite let go of his worldly desire for "The Countess" Brigitte.

Guardian Cows

Photo by PJ 2009, Cattle herd on the Island of Hawaii.

Growing up with cattle, I learned to appreciate the powers of cows, their strong maternal instinct to protect and ward of evils, things that are alive, dead and how they would protect anyone they considers to be part of their herd. Cows like many other animals have strong senses and they use these to keep themselves and others safe.

One of these cows even saved my life on several occasions, her name was Silkedokka, or if translated into English, The Silk Doll. My parents early on noticed that Silkedokka was more independent and strong willed than most cows, and she was given to me when I was 6 years of age. I adored her and she grew up with me, she would follow me where ever I went and this one time I was busy picking flowers not noticing another of our cows that happened to hate children, Now Silkedokka had a pair of horns that pointed down, with the tips turned inward, and she knew exactly how to use them. As the other cow, went on to charge me Silkedokka intervened using her horns as a pair of bumpers she rammed the other cow just in time to prevent me from getting crushed against the ground.

On other times our cows chased away spirits and circled around their young to protect them, I always felt safe among the cattle even with some of them having a mean streak I always knew the other cows and especially Silkedokka would be there for me if I needed.

Other animals are also known to work as totem or guardian animals example of this can be found in the entry Why I belive in Saint Francis by Reverend Alaina Damewood. Saint Francis is the patron saint of animals.

Ullgolthr and Rallurgh - My Ultraterrestrial Pets

Illustration by PJ 2006, the perception to the author of Ullgolthr and Rallurgh can best be described as two small cats like these two blurred to the cameras eye.

What I am going to share with you now is one of the strangest experiences of my adult life here in Hawaii. It all happened the night I found out about Ullgolthr and Rallurgh, two cat like other dimensional animals that follow me around and cuddles up from the energy that I emit.

I remember this very clearly as this was the very night of summer solstice, and I had just assisted in an remote exorcism, this event and the extra energies that flow between dimensions on summer solstice opened up my mind to experience these two sweet creatures.

I had problems sleeping that night so I was still fully awake when I noticed the feeling of something close to my neck, as I looked down I noticed the two blurry cat like animals and as I sat up they jumped down onto the bed, both of them looked up to me confused it felt like they were wondering how did that happened. As I looked down at them it felt like I could read their minds and feel their confusion and this is what I got: Rallurgh he never noticed us before, while the other one was thinking come Ullgolthr lets leave him, we can come back tomorrow when he is more at ease.

I watched as both of them moved down from the bed, onto the floor stopped looked back at me while figuring out what to do next, shifting from blurred to solid and finaly phased out of our world. I Felt these were lesser beings more like inter-dimensional animals, that at times bask in our energies similar to how a cat like to bask in the sunlight, these would be close to the veil just out of our sentient worlds perception, just once in a while blending trough enough to be noticed.

Still I felt so full of energy that night that I did not go to sleep at all until the afternoon of the next day. I still feel Ullgolthr and Rallurgh's presence now when I know of their existance and know how to distinguish their unique form of energy from the rest of my surroundings.

Animals Ability to Sense Paranormal Activity

Photo by PJ 2009 Cattle Farmland on the isle of Hawaii

Most animals have senses that are much more keen than our own human senses, and many of them have senses that humans do not even have. It is well known that many animals know when there is something paranormal with them, from a common house cat hissing or following something unseen passing trough the room. Dogs, horses, birds and I am sure a lot of other animals also have the ability to sense things that most humans never would. I have myself watched as my cat respond to what would been a spectral hand trying to pet it's back making her crunching down and move away.

Cats
Felines are well known for senses among these a superb hearing, excellent sense of smell, known electromagnetic sensory abilities, low light vision which probably makes them able to see things even in regular light that we never would. When we surveyed our house for electromagnetic fields (EMF), we found out that the cats preferred to sleep in all the hot spots and all the cold spots in the electromagnetic field much as they love to bask in the sun or sleep close to a warm oven in the winter they also seemed to pick their sleeping areas according to the EMF, EMF is known to spike up with paranormal activity though consistent EMF fields are associated with our electronics, wirings and water pipes, proving that at least cats have the ability to directly sense EMF.

Dogs
Canines are also well known for a multitude of great senses from their superb sense of smelling, possible electromagnetic sensory abilities and a superb sense of hearing, several polynesians that I know claim that the wetness of a dogs eye make them able to see ghosts and if a human ever would wet their eyes with the dogs eye wetness they too could see what the dogs do.

Birds
Avians have very strong electromagnetic sensory ability as this is part of their natural navigation, using earths own magnetic fields as a form of GPS, birds also have a wider field of perception in the form being able to see in the ultra violet spectrum of light, which humans and most other animals do not have, many of them also have a excellent sense of smell.

Horses
Equines are naturally skittish and often refuse to cross into areas that have high EMF fields, they have superb senses in hearing and smell, but have a limited sight in low light making them even more dependent on using their other senses.

Cows
Bovines are smart herd animals and since I grew up on a farm I always had plenty of opportunity to notice how the cattle handled the paranormal, being a sensitive myself I would already know if I had sensed something and the cows, though mostly seems to ignore things of the paranormal definitely know it is there, and they act protectively of their herd if they feel the entity is harmful or evil. I always felt very safe with the cows around me since they would quickly ward off any evils as a herd, circling around those they want to protect and chase away anything evil.

I am sure all animals exhibits some senses capable of noticing the paranormal and if you have any examples of animals that I did not include in my entry that you would like to share with the blog feel free to contact us at waikikiblogboi@gmail.com

Unicorns, Camelopardalis and other Cryptids

Photo of Rhinoceros by PJ at Honolulu Zoo 2009

Unicorns (meaning one horned) or as they are described horses with one horn in their forehead might all be rooted in a real animal that back thousands of years ago was considered a myth in Europe because of it being so hard to come by and the only source of information was from travelers and ancient scrolls that described them to be white and black one horned horses, but in the translation it was lost that what they were referring to as the rhinoceros and the other horse was the hippopotamus or river horse which is what it is called in most languages including English which uses the ancient greek work for river horse (ἱπποπόταμος). The Unicorn is also mentioned in the bible among them in Job 39:9-12 (King James Version)

"9Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
10Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
11Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
12Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?"

Compared to the river horse or hippopotamus the one horned horse makes sense as the rhinoceros and hippos have similar build and there indeed are two main types of rhinos the white rhino and the black rhino. Also when one compared the stories of the healing and magical powers of the unicorns horn, again one find striking similarities, as powdered rhino horns are supposed to be able to cure or improve health just like the unicorns horn was thought to do. One reason why unicorns were thought to be as depicted with a long spiral horn was because of the animal thought to be the oceanic equivalent the narwhal with the males having a long ivory spiral tooth often sold as unicorn horns to gullible and willing buyers of mythical rare goods like the horns of unicorns.

Camelopardalis AKA Camelopard

Photo of Giraffes Giraffa camelopardalis, Honolulu Zoo PJ 2009
This would not be the first time early explorers described animals only to have them enter our world as mythological beasts since their description seemed so fantastical and unrealistic that one thought them to be fairy tales, one example of this is the camelopard (camel-leopard) which first was described around 14th century as an African animal like a camel in shape but with the horns of an antelope, tail of a lion, coloring and spots like a leopard. much later it was proven to be real as traders managed to transport live giraffes which was the animal earlier referred to as the mythological beast camelopardis.

Especially strange animals like the Australian platypus were long assumed to be a fake animal put together by the taxidermists and brought back to England, or when the western civilization realized that there actually exists black swans in Australia, which until then had been considered to be creatures of myths. Other beasts that fairly recently became acknowledged as real was the gorilla which until explorers actually captured one and brought it with them had been considered African superstitious stories about large dark haired apes living high up in the Deep unaccessible African mountain jungles.

Other mythological beasts might have similar history being now branded as cryptids, and described in a side note in anecdotal paper on cryptozoology. If you liked this entry you would probably also like The Mermaid of Finnmark.

Mythological Beasts: Nøkken

Asian White Water Lily (White Lotus)
by PJ 2011 Honolulu, Hawaii

Nøkken was in norse mythology a creature of the inland waters much like Huldra was a creature of the deep forest. And like the female Huldra, that lures people into the forest and never let them go, the male Nøkken would try to lure people to the waters and drown them.

The Norse Nøkk seem to be similar to stories of water elves, also known as nymphs in other european cultures, and also carry similarities to the mermen of the seas and oceans.

The most common described way for Nøkken to lure gullible people to its watery depths is in the form of a stunningly beautiful white horse, which willingly would let especially young children climb up on its back, and then leap with them into the water.

In other legends Nøkken seeks out one person a year to drown in his fresh water ponds, where he lures using his power of invisibility, or the ability to shape-change into something unsuspecting like a floating log, a beautiful water lily or even other plant life that is making it look like the edge of the pond is farther in, so when you move over to the water to pick flowers you would fall into the deep cold, treacherous waters.

In other occasions Nøkken was said to appear as a handsome young man, playing music in the calm tranquil forest, luring young fair maidens into his watery embrace and their doom, playing the harp or fiddle he would spellbind them with his magical charm.

In order to protect yourself legends say, is by spitting and then tossing a steel needle or a steel cross into the water. Another way was to bind Nøkken to a Nøkkstein (Nøkken rock) and then let it drop into the water directly vertically from as high up as you could get it, if you have already been grabbed by Nøkken and is about to be pulled into the waters you can break free by saying his name, as in this norwegian phrase "Nøkken! Nøkken nål i vann. Jomfru Maria kastet stål i vann! Du synker, jeg flyter!" translated this becomes "Nøkken! Nøkken! needle in water. Virgin Mary tossed steel into the water! You are sinking I am floating!"

So the next time you see a floating tree stub or water lily, a beautiful white horse wandering by the outskirts of a small lake or pond or even a handsome young man fair-skinned and with blond long hair playing the harp or the fiddle next to a river or pond it just might be Nøkken himself trying to trap you as his once a year victim... beware.

.

Am I Invisible?

 Photo PJ 2009

Sometimes when I was growing up I would wonder if I was invisible, there was so many times when I would walk in a room and no one would notice that I am there before I make my presence known, even photocell controlled doors would at times seem unable to notice my presence, one time in particular I was trying to enter a store with automatic doors, after trying to get the doors open for about 10 minutes another costumer walked over and they instantly opened, but when I would go towards it there was no response.

I have watched burglars walk right by me and not noticing me at all, the night campus security guards would check and secure the room I am in, while I am watching every step he would take, and then watch him leave again without noticing me at all even though he had to pass me both entering and leaving, this did not happen once but basically every night for months. The same security guard would locate and question every other student he found in the same room though. This has also happened when it comes to animals where I would walk at my normal pace, and the animal would neither see, hear or smell me before I am close enough to pick them up unnoticed, which at this point I often cause them quite a scare when they do realize that one has been able to get that close to them unnoticed, the same appears to be true when one is jogging, causing my friends to give me the nickname of the walking spirit, since I seemed to be able to appear and disappear in fully crowded classrooms with no one noticing that I came or left.

More so when I tested this on the infrared cameras I found that I could enter rooms witch had motion controlled lights and they would not be activated, I even tried to deliberately activate the infrared sensors by waving at them, and only after putting in a great deal of effort would the lights finally come on, making it easier to just walk over to the light switch in order to bypass the annoying in my case seemingly non-functioning motion controlled lights.

Sometimes I wonder if this is some of the same ways illusionists uses in their way of fooling people in their tricks, which must be why I have always been fascinated by magic, and the seemingly breathtaking ability they show off to make things disappear in thin air.

Brat the Ghost Cat

Brat the Cat

I had many cats during my life time the cat Brat stands out as my favorite. My Mother also loved Brat. He had a bad habit of just walking up to something and knocking it over. He loved jumping on top the TV knocking my mother's plant off onto the floor, walking up to the phone that was on a small end table besides my mother's recliner chair and take his paw and use it to knock off the handset from the phone. Another one of Brat's  favorite objects to knock over was a small figurine my mother had in the living room. Brat would also go into the bathroom and get the toilet paper and drag it all over the apartment. However, he was also very loyal, every morning at 8:30 Brat would jump up on my mother's bed and gently touch her face with his paw until she woke up. From that point on he would follow her everywhere.

One day when Brat was three years old he started to seizure. After several seizures and many trips to the veterinarian he would still seizure and he finally died from them. I felt a strong loss from Brats passing and my mother cried. She would always say how her days were longer and so much more sad without Brat by her side.

One night about two weeks after Brat passed away, My Mother woke up around 1AM. She came into my room and woke me up. She said that she woke up to go to the bathroom and when she walked out into the hallway she saw the toilet tissue dragged out into the hallway just like Brat used to do. I then walked into the living room and saw my mother's figurine on the carpet. I thought at first, my mother had done it because she missed him so much, maybe she even did it in her sleep or something like that. However a few nights later I woke up from a sound I heard coming from the living room. As I walked into the living room to investigate  the sound, I saw my mother's figurine, her plant that sat on top of the TV both on the floor on there sides and, the handset to the telephone had indeed been knocked off the phone. From that moment on, I knew that Brat was still with us in spirit. This activity continued to happen from time to time.

Deepfreezed: The Grendels of Area 51

Many think of Area 51 being a place with secret research into UFO's and aliens, but there are so much more going on in all fields of classified research projects, and among these, research into cryopreservation. This was brought to our attention by someone that has been in touch with those that work at Area 51, about a incident that happened in 2005.

According to the source, US researches found a few Grendels frozen in the ice of Antarctica. The Grendels are said to be dragon/frog like, their eyes are illuminating and reflects red, and I was even given help making the sketch depicted above. Grendels have the ability to be frozen solid, without tissue damage to it's cells, and therefore are the perfect research target for anyone that want to unlock the technology to get functional cryopreservation that could be used for space exploration.

In 2005 the scientists of Area 51 went ahead and thawed up three of their Grendels, but was surprised by the viciousness of the Grendels, and the fact that they seem to have psychic abilities, being able to communicate with each other telepathically and even read the minds of people. When the first one woke up it went on a rampage killing both scientists and guards in the laboratory, the alarm was sounded and all security, and military personnel was called in, even the perimeter guards which usually never are allowed to enter the core of Area 51. Unable to subdue the Grendels, they had to stop the Grendels by sealing them into one of their subterranean areas, under Groom Lake which the Grendels still are, thriving and increased in numbers laying egg-pods, living of small critters, and hibernating between meals to this day.

Could this be true? Does this story have a grain of truth in it, Are they actually Grendels in Area 51? and if so, could they actually have broke loose and settled a colony in the subterranean tunnels of Area 51, sealed off because they are still not able to remove this Grendel infestation. Could there really even exist a beast like the Grendel with the ability to be fully frozen in the ice of Antarctica and then come to life when thawed out? I found the topic interesting enough that I would share it and let the readers themselves come to a conclusion.

Animal Affinity

Photo by PJ, Honolulu, Hawaii 2005

This is from PJ in Honolulu, Hawaii,
I do not know what makes some seem to have a natural talent with animals, or as I like to put it, animal affinity, perhaps animals sense something beyond our normal human ones, the one thing I do know is that I have always had a way with animals of every kind, they seem to instantly trust me both wild and tame alike. Something very similar to this is Animal Links. Social Affinity or Empathy is also similar but instead deal with humans social interactions.

Like when I was about seven years old I remember my parents had been struggling for a good while with one of our young extremely stubborn cows, she refused to move in any way and it did not matter how much my mother and father pleaded, tried to scare her, pushed, prodded or pulled, she would not budge one single inch. Then when they had a break before getting ready to try again I went ahead, grabbed a handful of green leaves and held it in front of her, her eyes lit up, peaked with interest of what I might have in my hand, as I moved backwards she followed willingly into the fenced area.

This ability has made it possible for me to experience wild animals up close, like when I was visiting my grandmother back in Norway and a fox spiked by curiosity came all the way up to me and I knew it was not going to do any harm. In Hawaii I experienced the extremely skittish mongooses curiously stopping by to check out my shoes while walking home, and I was just keeping my normal walking pace, just stopping when the mongoose came up right in front of me.
Since I did not have my camera with me that
day provided this mongoose photo from

No later than two days ago I had the opportunity to relocate a gecko that had found its way into our 8th floor apartment, usually geckos are quite skittish, and when my room mate had tried to catch it earlier it was running around like crazy, the gecko had settled on-top of a note-wheel as I approached it it did not budge so I went ahead picked up the note-wheel, placed it outside our room door on the floor and told it to wait there until i got my shoes on and was ready to carry it out, closed the door and returned a few minutes later and it was still there on-top of the note wheel, I picked it gently up and it kept a keen eye on me as i carried into the elevator and down outside into the grass.

The Barking Dogs at Waimanalo

It is well known that animals have keen senses, both in the form of the standard five and also very likely a few other that we don't have. My friend Jeff told me about this experience he had while living in Waimanalo, Oahu in Hawaii.

In Hawaiian folklore, it is said that if one put the water from the eyes of a dog into one own eyes one would be able to see what the dogs see, may it be ghosts, or other beings of the supernatural.

One time our dogs started barking and barking while running in circles around something, but there was nothing there, however at times it looked like there were the light of a lit cigarette in mid-air in the circled area that the dogs was running around.

I think this was another example of the menehunes using their ability to turn invisible to humans, however dogs and other animals are not fooled that easily.

You could also read more about the menehune in Jeff's other story, The Menehune of Waimanalo, Another interesting story is about the menehune like 'E'epa which are similar to leprechauns in The Leuprechaun like 'E'epa on the Island of Kauai.

Hero, the faithful dog

This is a story from Petter in Norway.
This is a recap of what happened after my black Labrador, Hero, died when he was 11 years old, and it spans over a period of 10 years. I have always been very skeptical and have never believed in reincarnation, but sometimes one would wonder.

In life Hero was a very normal black Labrador retriever and he used to follow me everywhere, faithfully having a daily chore of escorting me to my school bus, and waiting until It picked me up, He would make sure I was protected where ever I'd go. Then about 1 year after he died of old age, one of our cats gave birth to a female black kitten. In all our years this was the only time any of our many farm cats got a black kitten. Jokingly we remarked hey she looks a bit like Hero, she even have his white flag shaped spot on her chest. We named the kitten Euphra and she was always a bit odd, I never heard her meow and she would run not like any of our other cats, and we often said jokingly she must be a reincarnation of Hero, since her behavior was more like a dog than a cat, but still always considered this to be more a coincidence than anything else. (see Petter's other post in this blog about coincidences)

A few years later Euphra passed away and I moved to Tromsø to study, I always walked a lot, and during the first year I often saw this one kid about 7 or 8 years old playing along in this one part I passed while walking to or from the University. Then one day the kid stopped me and asked where my dog was, he insisted he had seen me walk by with my dog almost every day now for over a year. I told him he must be mistaken since I did not have any dogs, though I do walk by almost every day. The kid was very persistent and continued telling me what the dog looked like even describing the unique flag shaped white spot on his chest, a perfect description of Hero my old dog from years earlier. It does make you wonder if there really are something more, and if so it seemed my old dog Hero was still with me even 10 years after he passed away.

The Menehune of Waimanalo

Thicket of Strawberry Guavas, Photo by PJ

I just got this story from Jeff in Hawaii, Oahu.
When I was 18 years old I lived and worked at a banana farm up in the mountain ridge of Waimanalo, whenever we moved deeper into the forest we felt like we were at the mercy of the Menehunes, which in Hawaiian mythology is described as a people, as dwarfs in size, living in the deep forests and hidden valleys of Hawaii, the Menehune are though to sometimes shape-shift and appear in animal form.

Higher up the nearby old hiking trail we had a secret off beat spot which one could only get to by crawling through a 10 feet thicket of forest before entering a area of Strawberry Guava which was about 25 long in order to get to our spot of pakalolo. This time I was up there all by myself and it was 5pm, I had just entered the area of Strawberry Guavas I got this odd feeling of being watched from behind, and a strong feeling of a presence, as I turned I noticed a black dog about 12 feet away staring at me, at first I thought it was a wild dog, but I also had this eerie feeling it was something else, and what happened next I have no rational explanation to, I watched as the black dog moved 6 feet to the right towards a strawberry guava with a trunk about 1 inch thick as I watched the dog move behind the tree it did not come out on the other side. I walked over to the tree where the dog disappeared and could not find any trace of it.

Another time while I was up at the same path with a few of my friends we all got this eerie feeling of a presence, and we heard a distant soft drum beat, we moved over to a stream nearby again feeling more eerie as we looked over the edge we spotted what looked like a yellow tribal feather flume. At this point I got this feeling something ominous was about to happen, as a branch fell over us, we started running and I stumbled over some ancient barbed wire, ruining my pants and as I was there trapped I felt like something was breathing heavily in my neck. I we ran quickly back to the trail and returned home, scared, bruised and battered but luckily only lightly harmed.
